I polished all our silver too Dove - just before moving so I could offload it to a guy who takes unwanted stuff and sells it for charity.
We have been round the Xmas market here and snacked for brunch. Possum and I shared a portion of tartiflette - except it wasn't. Far too much black pepper and dried herbs and a lack of Reblochon but tasty. OH had 2 mlled wine and Possum had hot chocolate with whipped cream. Both too rich for me. Wandered about some more and found a couple selling DIY light garlands. Pick a length and then choose you colours of decorative ball to fit over each wee bulb on the string. Bought enough to do a double rainbow for Possum and some for our new kitchen. Then found the cabin doing apple fritters for us and churros for her.
Now home and getting warm again. Chilly nip in the air but it has been a lovely clear day.
Gorgeous photos Chicky. Love days like this with clear skies and light.

Been in the veg garden since we came home from the fair. Weeded an area where I've heaped 7 barrows of horse manure. OH has mended the GH window which has been wonky for years, it's polycarbonate and it blew off recently. Had to stop because it's getting dark.
I have inherited silver too, that gets an annual Christmas clean. Haven't done it yet.
Having the other half of yesterday's fish pie tonight. It was too big.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hi every one like Pat living in aussie we live in south africa and have now entered our summer and also suffer hot days. For the last 3 days our tempature has been 33c and to hot to do much work. We are also in need for rain. We did a lot of our caravaning holidays in scotland and i get homesick hearing about it it is 8.35pm here and time to take the dogs out so goodnight all.
No Strictly here. We'll catch up when we get back.
Feeling stuffed. Now I know why I only do treacle tart once every 5 or 6 years.
No inherited silver here. I'd bought it in brocantes and then got fed up cleaning so it was kept hidden away in black velvet so a waste. Someone else's problem now though I have kept the intricately decorated fish knives and forks we bought in a fair in Grasmere in 1989.
Glenys. I thought SA kept Greenwich time.

Love Reblochon.
Used to bring it back from skiing trips and it stunk the suitcase out.
Just preparing stir fried duck with a plum and chilly sauce.

Can't get rid of our silver Obelixx - it's got to be off-loaded (bequeathed
) to Wonky so she can enjoy cleaning it

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Dove, why do you think I left home in the first place!
G'mother's silver cutlery is packed away with black tissue paper.
She had a brass coal box, candle sticks etc and it was my job to clean them on a Saturday morning

Hi all - and welcome home Hosta and OH. Hope the temperature difference isn't too much of a shock!
Glenys & Pat, I'm a lot happier in the 5C we reached today than in your 32-33 degrees... phew!
My Granny's copper kettle is waiting for its annual clean. Not my favourite job, though my Mum used to enjoy helping with it.
I've been in York for the monthly choir rehearsal. Bit sleeeepy now...
