Pat I don't envy you that kind of heat (though I know Hosta will). Does HRH cope with it OK. Dogs and cats are quite clever at finding the warmest/coolest spot. It's the wind that sets me on edge and always has since I was little and my umbrella blew inside out. We have had the odd tile off the roof before but that's not bad in the grand scheme of things.
Joyce I think we should have a siesta today. Probably no chance of that but you never know. LilyP was that meant to be Delia?. I may as well go and wave a duster around next
LilyP I hope your daughter and family are settled comfortably at home now and that for all of you up north, that Barbara's visit is brief and not too memorable.
OH left home to go back to Turkey Hell ten minutes ago. I'd better make myself a coffee ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Lesley, hi. HRH spends nearly all her time on the lounge chair. I had the air con turned on from lunch time set at 24c, with swing fan, so that was good. The doors are open now at 6.20pm, and there is a good breeze thanks goodness.
Melbourne police have foiled a planned attack on prime sites on Christmas Day. Flinders st railway station, a large historic church, and the Federation building . Would have been pretty bad.
can you tell me what headings you used for your jigsaw puzzles?
Sorry, Lilyp, ive been meaning to comment about your daughter and her family. I hope all is well now.
Our son didn't come down today, after all. He had a friend visiting, so he'll be down tomorrow and our daughter and her son will be down on Sunday for our Christmas lunch.
Dove I'll join you in another coffee. Number four I think.
Pat it's good that the Police were on the ball. I've sent you a message on the jigsaw site and hope that helps. I put a few on under Labradoodle. One of them has a red cushion on it. Hope you have a lovely time with the family when they arrive.
Morning all you earlybirds. Hope Barbara leaves soon - sounds like people have escaped damage so far. i'm with you Lesley - high winds are the scariest thing - probably living in woodland doesn't help with that.
Wrapping mission accomplished last night - took hours, but glad it is now done. Today is cooking - mars bar cake (from the Blue Peter Christmas annual circa 1975), rich tea biscuit slices, chocolate mousse and a raspberry cheesecake. That should suit the sophisticated palates of the Chicky household
Coal face 1.30-915. I'm really , really looking forward to it. NOT. I have to say, folk were pretty OK yesterday apart from one customer ( not mine ) who threw , yes THREW his pre-ordered turkey at a member of staff screaming " that's not f***ing big enough for us" even thought it was the size he ordered. Christmas spirit eh? He walked out without it.
Might venture into the garden for an hour or so this morning to clear the head.

Hi all.
Decision made that we will now stay at home for Christmas, rather than OHs sister, OH actually seems very happy about it!
Getting closer to departure for the sun, so hoping I can keep going till then.
Hope everyone gets everything done that needs doing.
