I too did the big shop today. Was mpost impressed at the number of extra staff. Even had some directing cars in the car park . i got absolutely everything and was helped to the car with it ( Yup, I must have looked that bad). Oh went nearer town and had a nightmare with queues.

day has been taken up trying to support daughter who got home with the new baby, eventually, today. Because of the funeral if the ambassador who was assassinated the roads were all closed off and she was 2 1/2 hours in a taxi with screaming baby and pretty uncomfortable herself. To top it all off her Oh took ill and it was emergency docs etc   She is a trooper but I think even this tested her  I sent food boxes over so at least she can tuck in! It's amazing how they don't check it!

we have London family hoping to fly to Edinburgh tomorrow where we shall hand over the car for them to visit her poorly mum. Depending on the weather they my stay over coming back to us the next day.

i have battened down the hatches, taken the wreath off the front door, so at least it wont end  up in Ireland! Cars, tractors, log splitters all tucked up and locked up  I still shudder at the memory of our old tree collapsing a few years ago.  Actually I think we may be burning it now

hope all of us expecting Barbara can mover her on.....fast! We have tarpaulins everywhere and I wom

ndered if I put tinsle and baubles up it might look festive.? Yes, that what he said too!

    Morning all image

LP - your daughter certainly had a lot to contend with yesterday. I hope all is well now with her OH.

You will be able to pamper all of them soon and have lots of cuddles image

If a tarpaulin lands in the garden, I'll know it's your's.

Going to try to get a bit more sleep after my cuppa.

Not as windy as it's been the last two nights LP  Hope the wind veers to the far north but not too hopeful. Safe journey to the airport and back.

    Good morning all, hi Patimage

LilyP what a time your family are having.  I hope that now your daughter's home with the baby things will settle down a little and that her OH is recovering.  I'm sure you wish you were there right now but it won't be very long now.  I meant to ask what your granddaughter thinks of her baby brotherimage.  Fingers crossed for the family flying up from London.  Hope it's early in the day.  We had hail, sleet and snow yesterday but all the shopping is now done and the last of the hatches battened down.

Joyce I hooe you managed to get a bit more sleep.  I've been up for ages so decided to cook the Christmas ham which is simmering away.  It's Nigella's ginger ale recipe which I tried last year and was a success.

    Have a good day everyoneimage

Morning all. While I don't envy those of you with freezing weather, I'd also rather not have today's stinking hot  day repeated. We're both feeling a bit limp.
