New pond

  • Ha, ha, - would that be front row or in the stalls?  My OH is away - with camera, so the pictures will have to wait a few days - but yes it is exciting.

I have been gradually filling the pond with water today - we can't run the pump/fill continually as we have to let the water table rise after each run, so it takes about 3 days to fill. When full the pond holds 17,000 litres of water.

I am going to post a question about water lilies.

  • I am a very happy Easter Bunny today.  The pond/pump/waterfall etc. is all up and running and looks and sounds wonderful.  The camera is on holiday, so no pictures just yet, but suffice to say I am more than just a little relieved.  The irrigation system has been tweaked and should be in full flow in the next few days.

To cap it all my clematis plug plants arrived today too. More to follow.

Fantastic! Can't wait to see pics.

  • imageimageimageThe ALMOST finished pond area - we have just got the bog area and the planting up to do. - we intend to put mypex down, to help suppress the weeds which will no doubt find a way to seed here. It looks a whole lot better than a couple of weeks ago.

Impressive! It looks great. Certainly worth all the hard work. What a lovely place to sit and enjoy it, too - if you ever get the time to sit!

Gorgeous GDimage. Bet you'll spend many hours watching it, and its inhabitants, over the next few years.  Seriously green with envy hereimageimage

  • Thank you -  I WILL make the time to sit and enjoy - I had breakfast and lunch on the red bench in the sunshine yesterday. Today was cooler, so we worked on the final stages - another 3 or 4 weeks of tweaking and planting, to the sound of the trickling water - bliss!
