Sorry w.edges, I didn't see your reply. I can't recall, and that was the only pic I could get. He had his head buried a bit in the foliage. He was very smart though
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Just realised - I took this pic in the same area. I couldn't see him properly as he was too high on the post, but I think he may be the same type of insect He definitely has big antennae!

Some 'moody sky' pix from a return visit to An Caisteal at Crianlarich recently Ben More getting the rain, while Stob Binnein, on the right, doesn't Looking south, rain in the bealach, Ben Lomond in the distance Looking back, rain coming in over the summit
Some for @punkdoc Change of skies last week on Sgurr a'Mhaoraich, Loch Quoich. Gairich across the loch, Gleouraich on the left
Summit view looking east, back over all the minor tops and ridge of S.a'M. Gleouraich in centre, with it's neighbour Spidean Mialach's pointy little summit just beyond. The South Glen Sheil ridge on the left West down Loch Hourn, the mighty Ladhar Bheinn on the left, Kintail hills on right. Skye is in the distance, but camera couldn't quite pick it up clearly. Pano from the summit
I like the way the shape of Ben Nevis in the distance is echoed in the sweep of Gairich's north east ridge

Not done any pix for a while, but I'd always fancied doing Stob Binnein by it's beautiful, whaleback southern ridge, seen in the pic below from a neighbouring hill, a few years ago. The knee crunching descent back to the car park doesn't detract from the great views. Looking down to the two lochs, Voil and Doine, from the first top at around 2,000 feet. The two Lochearnhead Munros and Ben Ledi in the background
Bit higher up, and the start of the ridge 'proper' and the twin summits ahead. A lovely high level, undulating walk.
First summit Stob Coire an Lochain [approx 3,400 feet] with the true summit ahead One of the lochans [of the 'an Lochain' ] the summit ahead , and Ben More just beyond
Summit [approx 3,800 feet] view of Ben More and a bit 'more' further north
Hope you enjoyed walking with me

Thank you @Joyce21 It's been lovely to have the real thing too Had a lovely day in the Cairngorms on Monday. Wee bit busy for me - but great for all the folk up here on their Bank Hols, and for the local economy.
Hope you're doing ok, and the rain hasn't been causing too much of a problem on the coast. It's been particularly bad this year

Glad you'e been able to get out on the hills again. Don't mention rain. I discovered i had a leak in the roof and the following day half of neighbour's garden went in a landslip undermining a corner of my garage.

Have you been able to get it fixed ? I dont expect that's easy with it affecting the garage founds though. Poor neighbour too
Water is awful. I'm fed up with roof/ceiling leaks, but fortunately mine were fixed before all the July/August rain.
