@Joyce21 -  looking up through trees when it's snowing is a bit of a hazard... but I agree, trees are gorgeous.   :)
Thanks, @Papi Jo.  The snow means I see things differently, which is good for encouraging photography.

Lovely pix Liri and w.edges. I love it when people look up, instead of just ahead - or down!  :)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

The first Vine Weevil of the year just appeared. At least it gave me some practise with the macro lighting rig.

Still playing about with macro stuff. I found this little piece of slag while exploring one of the local industrial sites. It's only a tiny lump about an inch across but it's surprisingly heavy, partially magnetic and made up of all kinds of rainbow colours. It looks like it should have come from Mars not the Welsh Valleys.

That's amazing, @wild edges - macro photography is great, and helps you see the tiny beauties you'd miss with the naked eye - not that I have a proper macro lens.  I just get in very close & then enlarge it on the computer.

Colour blending on a fritillary...   :)

Lovely close ups. My camera doesn't have a great macro facility unfortunately, but it's great for my needs.
Mine works better when I don't go so close, Liri. If I keep a bit of distance, then go in closer once it's on the 'pooter, that seems to be better.
Got out on a hill on Monday to see how good or bad the thighs and hill legs were.
Earl's Seat, the highest in the Campsies, was the intended target if the little legs were ok after going over Dumgoyne which sits nearby.

First target - it's only little, but quite steep. Well, until you get to the top... :D

Summit view, and the next target, which is on the far right of the pic. Bit of upping and downing to left and right to get there

Dumgoyne is grand when you turn and look behind you on the way to Earl's Seat. Too hazy to see  the bigger hills to the west unfortunately

The summit view from Earl's Seat out to the north.

I love the fact that you have to go over 'Clachertyfarlie Knowes' to reach it.
We have all the best place names up here  :D
A short day, but it was great to be back out 'where I belong'.  :)

You definitely do have all the best place names, @Fairygirl ...  :D
It's good to see you've given up the decorating in favour of climbing interestingly-named knobbly things.  :)

    Lovely leaf photo, @Fire

@Fairygirl, I'm sure it felt great to be back on the hills again. You can work up gradually to a Munro.

Speaking of zooming in to reveal hidden details. Is it just me or does it always look like bugs are flipping you the bird? :#
