Ooh - too many pix for that last one. I wish there was an indicator when you're running out of room

I'm very lucky - easy to get complacent about local hills.

Traffic was fine on the way home too Joyce - it's always better on Saturdays. Think people stay out longer if they're not getting up for work the next day image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I get fascinated  looking at the various types of moss.  There's a rather nice dark green one on the stones, in the damp, shady area of my garden It encroaches onto the soil but I just keep it in check..

    I'm also a lichen fan.

There was a wee patch of moss on one of the bigger boulders Joyce. I couldn't resist stroking it  image

So many different mosses and lichens too, FG and Joyce.  In my garden I've encouraged some tall, dense moss on a bit of bank which was too steep, next to a path, and which eroded every time I tried to plant "proper" plants in it.  But the moss is lovely and stabilises it fine.  image

Glad you had such a good day, Fairy.  Fab views... I think I see some of those from the train (though the line is closed at the moment, I think - landslide somewhere or other).

Your photos brighten my day.  image  Thank you!

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Wonderful Fairy, and your explanations made them so much better. You make me feel a bit guilty that we don't walk around our place more. We usually drive out the back and then just wander a bit from there until the car is moved to another location and ditto. We're mostly looking for damage to fence lines,  so we don't take time to enjoy the fine things. Might have to adjust our habit.

Ps, I meant to say to GD, that I love seeing her photos as well. I'd never heard that story about the author of Les Mis.

Half an hour later, she has moved - I guess she's doing her exercises in her sleep.image

Liri, this is a Currawang bird. They are fairly large. I had put HRHs uneaten dog food out overnight, and I now know who is eating it.

by the way, the hanging bottle is a fly/wasp trap.

The rain and wind has pushed some of the cosmos over, so I picked the worst affected and put them on the front verandah.

We had 9.5mm rain last night and I think more is on the way.
