A few pics taken earlier of veg still growing..the rest of parsnips need lifting and there's a few broccoli heads to be snipped. lettuces ready for Christmas starter ???  think tomorrow will be more leaf clearing....(seems more than last year lol) ?. My onions and shallots seem to be doing great and fingers crossed We don't get the rains we had the beginning of this year which rotted 99.9% of them. ?

Great looking winter veg, all I have is in the freezer apart from some manky looking curly kale which isn't as curly as it looked on the photo.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Not much left in the freezer now busy, used most for soups/stews and the odd quiche but there is enough there for another wee while ?. Was thinking about growing kale as it seems very hardy ?. Looking forward to growing (a new veg for me) next year, called a Tromboncino...crazy looking thing that    tastes like a cucumber/squash/courgette ?. Got the seeds and just dying to give them a go.

  • Well done Aym, looking good ??

No garden pictures as such today as too cold. Snuggled under my furry throw watching the new Billy Connolly dvd with lovely log fire burning away.....Heaven! ??

That looks nice and snug Clarice image

    SW Scotland
  • Very snug, thanks joyce?. I use the wood ash for the chickens, for their dust baths and as long as you burn the right wood, then there's no problem....(no idea as to what's aloud in uk) but only oak gets used here and the chimney gets cleaned yearly with a certificate at the end.?

Yes there has been an awful lot of sad news about, ??makes me wish the Telly was still on the blink as it saddens the day once we read or view such violence and hatred.....(some of the time it's not too far from home either).

  • Yes it's frustrating Aym, also sick but most of all, very very sad and no need. I won't go into the politic or religious sides of things as they are very touchy subjects.....why on earth can't we all live in peace.....? Doesn't seem a hard thing to do but I doubt very much that the slaughtering will end any time soon...?

  • Yes it's not very nice Aym...?? . Sorry but I love my wee emoji's lol. I think hubby is used to me by now but i do remember my mother saying..."If you could bottle and sell what you have Clarice, then you  Would be rich" ??.

Doesn't take much to be nice Aym....???
