No done any since Tuesday when I removed a Clematis from the large tub I had nurtured it in as a foundling offset for a year and moved it across the garden to the arch.
It came out of the pot with a good root system intact, I pushed it onto an opened up compost bag and slid the whole plant on its "sled" across the lawn to it's ready prepared hole. A sort of hospital "patient slide technique" when there was no one else around to move it for me.
I should have stayed in my garden today, with all my friendly plants
Wind has dropped now but was jolly blustery earlier. I tied in my five beefy climbing roses, good doers, all brilliant plants and was tolerant of the 3 weedy also-ran climbers. Paul Noel's weediness is my own fault but the other two are on a slippery slope
Took photos of my up-coming bulbs to document spaces for more bulbs next year. The eranthis seem to have done alright in the bog, unless it wasn't as soggy as normal years.
Had to tidy up a little as it's that time of the year where it seems too early but left any longer access through the beds will be lost. Cut back the clems, loose stems and a bit of my clem alpina by accident Have nowhere to put the bits so piled it up on one of the least advanced beds. Brown bin collection isn't for another 6 weeks.
Arranged my pots of nearly-there bulbs in an artistic fashion and made another plant order out my spring plant budget
I finished making my new compost bin, took down a pear tree and pruned an apple tree - which now looks like a big twig! Oops. I get a bit carried away.
Yesterday I, at last, planted the other two Gertrude Jekyll roses that OH gave me in the upper rose trellis bed. First removed a barrow load of weeds and cut down perennials. Changed quite a bit of the soil with soil from veg garden, compost and manure as there may have been roses there before. They used to get eaten by deer before OH fenced the flower garden. Also pruned a climbing rose, Pink Cloud.
Today pruned most of the Paul's Scarlet climber up the house and OH attacked a honeysuckle that hasn't been pruned for about 12 years.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Not great weather in Brum but managed to pot on some day lilies and perennial verbena. Relayed a loose slab in the greenhouse. Pruned back a sambucus black lace and that's about it
Dug in a concrete fence post support spur to repair the damage from the storm, cleared out the shed with trip to the dump and serviced the lawn mower and strimmer ready for the summer. Did parkrun this morning, Wales lost in the rugby and now my back hurts. But the daffodils have opened!

Only 10 pots, that's a fair few crocus Logan, I am sure they will look lovely and add colour where there were gaps. You have been far more productive than I have so far today. In fact the wind and the imminent rain have delayed my venture into the garden apart from feeding the birds and picking up a few fallen twigs early this morning.. However I need to get out there, feel the wind on my face, get moving and get doing.
Have been lugging round pots this morning, including two half barrels. Now have better access to my cold frame. Also put in anchors on three concrete fence post and tied in two climbing roses. Checked on greenhouse. Hollyhocks and wallflowers looking good.
Absolutely shattered now, plan to start sowing seeds tomorrow
