I bought the perennial collection from SR two years ago and they performed well. I did buy from other suppliers but I'm not at home to check. Will take a look tomorrow and post again. I have only just returned from holiday and can't wait to check out the pile of bulb catalogues that came while I was away.
I've used SR collections twice. First was the venetian one and it was lovely, but didn't really fit in with the other things that were flowering about the same time. Then tried vintage silk last year - disappointing as they all flowered in succession, so didn't really ever get the full effect. Back to diy this year I think
I am starting to panic because in all my enthusiasm I have started to plant my spring bulbs, am I to early? will a couple of weeks early planting really have that much of an effect?
I am super panicking since I think I have so far planted over a 100!!!
Wouldn't worry too much alizwa. As long as you've planted them correctly, they should be absolutely fine. Tulips are usually planted later when it's colder, but I've never had a problem with the virus which is the reason for planting later in the year. It's cooler up here anyway, but perhaps I've also been lucky
What have you put in?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
You'll just have to cross your fingers re the tulips, but I'm sticking my neck on the line and saying they'll be fine
Don't knock on my door if they all fail though...
Seriously, I'd agree with you about things tempting us. It would help if GCs had clear info about different bulbs. I often buy some Acidantheras as annuals for sticking into gaps. This year, I bought them in Feb/March but they were on sale in late January/Feb. I know they can't just be planted directly into the ground at that time, but it said nothing on the packet about that. I can see many people being tempted by them and then wondering why none of them appear in late summer.

Fairygirl, I have put in everything I can lay my hands on, I have no will power when it comes to spring bulbs.
I think I have planted over 100 tulips plus hyacinths, fritillaria's, narcissi, daffodils.
Personally I blame all the shops, why on earth are they putting on all these bulbs on display and then tempting us???
Wow. A lovely spring display to look forward to alizwa
Bandits aren't they?
