Why did I look at this thread? The girls will have to live on toast for the next month now....
I fancy Princess Irene, Orange Emperor, Professor Rontgen, Brown Sugar and Orange Favourite. Haven't even started on the purples....
The problem with looking at photos is that the colour can be different from reality. Ronaldo is much pinker than it looks in many photos. Some of my orange choices have purply streaks which is why I like them. I don't really like the bi-colour ones, but I don't really care for that in most flowers!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Go for three pots of tulips Fairy. You deserve it after all the 'stension mess. That's what I restrict myself to 'tho' I could go mad and get lots more.
I already have the pots with previous years tete-a-tetes and also narcissus They all make for a bright corner on the patio.
I've just listed all of the spring bulbs I fancied getting, tulips, alliums, fritillaria and the list goes on! It's coming up quite expensive so I am trying to be ruthless in deciding which colours I want. Can anyone recommend the best on line supplier for good quality bulbs at reasonable prices or with the best deals. I've looked at T&M and J Parker so far, still quite pricey.
All the lovely pictures are making me wish I wasn't in work so I can start planning??
Sorry Fairygirl - sounds like you have similar problems with tulip wishes as I do!! ☺ There really are some lovely lists of tulips on this thread - thanks guys. If only I had won the lottery, or had a 3 acre garden!! ☺
Cheerfulness is one of my faves. I have lots of them.
It's a flower I love d.wooddays, but our climate here isn't ideal for them so it's always a bit tricky.
I had Spring Green in my garden round the corner from here. That survived quite well - in a pot though.
If I won the lottery (difficult as I don't play) I'd have a lovely parterre with each bed full of tulips. They'd be followed by something else equally gorgeous. Never got as far as planning the follow up planting....

I have emptied a few large pots now Joyce - plants which had nowhere to go until I finished new beds and borders.....
They're crying out for some lovely displays.....
Stop it!

Thanks
I've used 'GeeTee' bulbs several times, and 'Peter Nyssen' is also highy respected. Great selection and service.
Bear in mind that cheaper bulbs may be smaller, or poorer quality though.

Have an order awaiting delivery to bulk up the first year of spring bulbs (this year) as follows:
Allium globemaster, Christophii, Mount Everest, giganteum
Tulip negrita, yonina, early glory, wisley, Catherina, Barcelona
Daffodil cheerfulness
Trillium luteum, grandiflorum, erectum
Anemone blanda blue, coronaria hollandia
Going to be busy when all these rock up - let's hope someone buys me the bulb planter I've got in a wish list for my birthday next Wednesday! ?
