Mega marathon shift yesterday at the chateau and really awful people as well, they were drunk by 8:00 AM (yes AM) in the morning, the father of the groom managed to run a tree over in the grounds, completely felled it, as he was trying to 'drive' to stock marquee up with more booze. I finished at 2:00 am this morning and although they could barely stand and certainly couldn't put a sentence together they were still drinking - I'll be honest I was embarrassed to be English.
Last shift for this year there now and hopefully by next year my own very civilised 'English Tea Rooms' (no alcohol served) will be up and running. Fingers crossed. I have now found (what I think) is the perfect premises, I was very excited when I viewed it, loved it straight away, now I just have to talk very nicely to the man at the bank to try and get my dream to become a reality. I took loads of pictures so when I get a moment I will try and load them up so you can all have a taste of my dream and hopefully the pictures will become the 'before' ones followed by some lovely 'after' ones very soon.
I have managed to read back but can't remember everything, Hosta and Clari's 'Feel Good' stories were heartwarming and I hope BL is ok home alone, I am at Pony Club next Wednesday, perhaps we could meet for a coffee if you are free?? I'll PM you. I miss the theatre, not been since I have lived in France, cinema yes, not theatre, might try and go when I am in the UK at Christmas, although I suppose at that time of the year it'll have to be a panto. Not quite High Art'
Right, teaching today so planning and focus required - I try so hard to get a week ahead and never quite manage it.
Have a good day all.

Nearly the weekend although the weather's not looking brilliant for that.
DD - I'm never surprised when I hear the sort of behaviour you describe. Some people simply can't behave under any circumstances. Glad you have hopeful news re your dreams and plans. I wish all the luck and love in the world with it.
Glad you both had a nice day/night yesterday, chicky and Dove
Work beckons...neverending isn't it! Better get myself organised soon. Have a good day everyone
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Theatre sounds lovely Chicky, glad you enjoyed it!
Clari, good to see your surviving the H2o challange, although it sounds hellish, you have my total admiration! Kind of you to help the chap and his kiddie to school Clari, I! Not sure I would have been happy to have a lift to school when I thought I'd got out of it but I'm sure his dad was very grateful!
Lovely of you to take the time to chat with the customer Hosta, it could be anyone of us one day and it just takes a small act to make a difference!
Dove sounds like a great day you have had! Thursford, gosh still remember the mighty Wurlitzer! Didn't gramps and Pamps come with us once? Or maybe they took me in the school holidays
Anybody seen Bushman about? If your popping in Bushman, hugs and happy days to you!
DD looking forward to seeing the pictures of the venue for cake eating!
Forgotten anything I retained now, greatings to all! Off to the doctors today, no work, pulled my back so no gardening either
Another sunny start to the day. No rain for ages and none in view. Pot watering first then another busy day in the attic for me and then the garden shed. Lovely job - not.
DD - know exactly what you mean. Good luck at the bank. Hope Busy's OK and you can meet up.
A lovely, chilly but sunny morning after overnight rain.
obelixx: I don't think you will be putting very much into the attic in the new house- - - - . When we emptied ours, for new insulation to be put down, very little went back up.
Wonky: take care of your back.
DD: sounds a ghastly wedding. I hope all goes well with the bank manager to give you something to look forward to.
I used to have a catering business. The behaviour of some of the people was appalling, unashamed drink driving and groping of my waitresses. I had enough when parents asked me to (no, told me to) lie to the police about how much the groom had drunk before getting into his car and crashing into another totally unrelated family car a mile up the road. I sold my half of the business and went to art school. A much nicer group of people there.
On another subject, I've just harvested our grapes

Been AWOL for a bit - first the water infection, then busy but a bit "low". Picking up a bit now, and the blue sky helps.
Great news about the cafe premises, DD! Hope the bank manager is on your side - you deserve some good news. I sympathise with your views on Brits abroad... they're bad enough in their own country; I shared a train carriage with a lot of "well-oiled" youngish folk on Saturday evening, and watched from behind my book as a couple, clearly high on something and refusing to pay or sit down, were ejected at a country station miles from where they wanted to go. And the train companies want to do away with train guards/conductors...
Congrats to you, Clari, for the H2O challenge! I've been drinking a lot of hot water this past week, treatment for the infection, and it becomes - well, boring...
Poor Wonky. Hope the back improves soon!
Theatre sounded good, Chicky. And a garden to look forward to!!
Obelixx, you seem incredibly organised for your move. Hope it all continues to go smoothly for you.
Visited my Mum on Tuesday. 8 hours travelling, 3 hours with Mum (split into two sessions with a break in the middle so I keep sane!). But you only get one mother... she doesn't know who I am any more, but is pretty well and happy, considering. Can't ask any more really.
Right. Raspberries to pick!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Lovely grapes. Sounds like a good escape too Dove.
Joyce, there is no attic at the new house! This one is 18m by 7m and has my sewing room, a workshop for upcycling stuff and 2 large storage areas. There are 3 large wardrobes and lots of shelving and patterns and fabrics and haberdashery and paints and stencils and Xmas decs and lights and so on and so forth... Most of the sorting and chucking has been done. Just need to pack it all now.
WW - yes, be careful with your back.

Chicky - visited Picton gardens when we were in Malvern earlier this month . They have some gorgeous colours with many more waiting to open their blooms and some good companion planting. Enjoy, but be aware they have a "sweetie" shop - http://s211.photobucket.com/user/Obelixx_be/library/1609%20Picton%20gardens?sort=2&page=1
Morning all.
Rain overnight ,but lovely and sunny now. Glad I got the grass done yesterday.
Woke at 6.45 and thought. "no point getting up, I've not milk" Fell asleep and woke up at 8.00, but no, it was 9.00!!
DD, our stock response to such situations is " HHmmm Brits abroad: make you proud eh?"
When we used to go to Gran Canaria a lot, we'd use German bars as some of the Brits were so embarrassing.
Bathrooms to clean this morning before Hubby home later.
Might manage to turn more compost later.
Hugs for Wonky and other poorly peeps.
Morning all/evening Pat
