  • A lovely day, no wind either - working outside without jacket or coat.

Rain is now being forecast for next Tuesday, well that's something but we really need it NOW!

Cold wind which eventually made me stop and come indoors.

Much too cold out in the wind so I've had a floppy, reflective day indoors doing not a lot.   Therapeutic.

Off to dance class this evening so I will get some exercise...   Set to be warmer this weekend.  Nor rain in sight.

A nice day here in Cheshire and warmer than forecast. I am off to Spain in a week's time and wondering what to do with my tender plants. That is the problem with early holidays. Most of my greenhouse plants will survive better in the house I think.image

  • It's official - as if we gardeners need to be told - we are in the 17th day of drought here in Guernsey.  The latest prediction is for rain by Monday evening and into Tuesday and getting colder too - my bedding plants won't like that..... oh dear.  Rain yes please, cold no thank you.

No drought here GD but I had to soak part of the garden with the hose today as the wind has been drying it out.

Today has been beautiful but still a slight chill in the breeze.

  • Here in Essex we've had big black rolling clouds all day. Sadly not a drop of that moisture has fallen! More watering tonight then.

Hot in the sun and 21° in the shade.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Stockton on the beautiful Tees appears to be in a rut of early sunshine followed by rain at tea time, it is warm with little breeze and the rain saves on watering.

The Rhododendron is still in glorious bloom, the Lilac starting to flower and the Peony's flying up, blue bells have been reduced in number and starting to bloom, lawns green and lush unlike some around here, in Wordsworth's words a mass of golden Dandelions, err I think that was it.
