Joyce, GWRS, I am expecting another influx shortly with two more Great Grandchildren it will be a chatty lunch as the children today are allowed an opinion in my day it was be seen and not heard or some of my very staid Aunts and Uncles thought, shock and awe when I chirped into the grown up conversation. One Uncle turned to my mother saying keep him in his place and was promptly told off by Mum.
Jarping was a day when bus loads of people came to our village green and showfield to picnic and enjoy the egg rolling games. The three wheel Icecream carts and tea dispensing vans would have a good day, even if the day was not good weather wise, a long gone tradition although fondly remembered.
Cool wind here too during the day, but it seems to have died down now. Still no rain forecast for here this week. Spending too much time watering and not enough on weeding.
Fields by us where White over first thing , however , weather picked up nicely , been at allotment all day it has been warm , no coat or jumper needed - Lincoln
Here in Essex we are desperate for rain as well. Usually at this time of year I am complaining because my borders are full of water, as we are on heavy clay. But I am watering pots all the time and even things in borders are looking limp! Unheard of in previous years! I suppose I shouldn't pray for rain as I might get more than I bargained for, but just a good couple of hours each week would be nice.
We are supposed to be receiving a delivery of rain tomorrow, in South Wales. I have been watering my seedlings and pots but the grass and pond are becoming grumpy...
April is lovely when the sun shines, but I'm still very chilly in the evenings. Didn't get around to changing from the Winter duvet and blanket set-up as planned last week, but glad now!

No rain forecast on the BBC weather app. Can anyone recommend an app with some rain for London on it? It's getting awful dry here
