Obelixx, we have a secret ingredient salt. Being on the north sea coast those icy winds from Siberia pick up salt on the way, sometimes in a sea mist you can taste it, slugs and salt do not mix apart from when you eat them, pepper herbs from the garden a good stock and simmer, throw the slugs away and drink the soup. We do live near Macbeth land?
The temperature is actually dropping here, another notch on the heating and another scotch methinks.
Here in Newark, it was very foggy at 11:00 last night, but clear by 05:00 this morning. However, there has been a very heavy frost which has finally, apart from in the shade of the house, disappeared in the glorious sunshine. Am still not walking on lawns, etc. apart from once a week to empty my kitchen compost into the main bin (bottom of garden and no path over one lawn). Hoping to enjoy a nice walk this aft.
No rain for two weeks now, but the ice was thicker than ever this morning. Given up hope of having any frogspawn this year - so if there is any it will be a bonus.
Full sun, no wind yet again. Rain promised for next week though.
Your frogspawn dilemma puzzles me as it never appears here until March. It is amazing how it survives ice when it does appear. I think my two goldfish are more of a threat in my pond. I am wondering if they have survived this winter so far. I am looking forward to hearing the courting frogs which usually happens in February. We have had a lovely day here though very cold.
Freezing fog this morning - I pulled over at the bottom of the street to txt OH to leave more time for journey this morning as visibility was awful. Clear and cold tonight - heating hadn't come on so standing by oven to keep warm at mo until it warms up.
You paint a lovely picture Forestedge - I can just imagine how atmospheric it would have been for your walk. Seems that you had the same weather as we are experiencing here.

We woke up to thick fog at 7am here in East Herts but it's now cleared and we have brilliant sunshine.
Obelixx, our earlier freezing weather didn't even kill the greenfly on a rose

We were very lucky today - lovely and sunny but frosty - went for a lovely walk in the forest with sun slanting through the trees.
