It has been dry and little wind for the best part of the day, but now a mix of rain and wind has arrived - supposed to be having a storm in the next 24 hours - so tomorrow may be a lazy day indoors.
Update - we are now in the middle of storm/hurricane Angus - my goodness is it rough, everything that can rattle is and more. No doubt we will have damage by morning if the wind carries on like this.
Looks like you're getting the brunt of it GD and it's heading for southern England. Stay safe indoors - those winds are being estimated to reach 80mph!
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
Thanks Bob, it certainly is rough out therr and I am hoping their will be no casualties especially at sea. The storm sounds worse from up here in the attic and we have had stronger winds like the hurricane of 1987 which we mostly slept through. Even so - perhaps it will have diluted somewhat before it reaches the coast of England.
Hi GD we were expecting angus overnight, but just a bit of rain....this morning not a breath of wind....sounds like he wore himself out over yours, hope no damage this morning....
Thanks Loana, thankfully all o.k. apart from my zip up wardrobe/plant stand which was half full of trays and pots of autumn cuttings - they were swept up with all the mess this morning so I will have to start again. However that is nothing to cry about and can be started again. There are a few trees down across the island and some collapsed sheds and suchlike.
It's been a lovely calm day here today - plenty of sunshine and a few showers too.

To all those in the south, I hope the storm blows itself out quickly! There is a saying:
"The harder it blows the faster it goes"
I never rated this saying much up here with the relentless winter, north-wind, but maybe it is true of storms.

Howling gales here on the edge of Burgundy and some rain showers.
