34C here and starting to get sticky. Storm forecast has been brought forward to tomorrow afternoon. I hope it does come and clears the air but mostly cos my garden is gasping for water.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Giddy123, was that temp of 8d in Suffolk, then? Muddle-Up, where are you, that you have your central heating on, what was the temp? 10pm last night it was nearly 18d outside it felt comfortable, (out there that is!) Even OH has been feeling hot, and had the fan on when he went to bed, which is unheard of.
A misty start and heavy dew on the grass but the sun is starting to break through.
NannyB, my hubby has electric blanket on at nights (his side of bed only) and, like MU, the heating has often been on at 8pm. Both of us are in Scotland and a bit envious of your weather.
And so it ends, Stockton's mini summer is over it would seem. In the words of the song ( I have lots of songs in my head, quite deafening) "The clouds are low, the sun departs, the heatings on, the windows shut and its raining, raining on my A@@e" I think those are the right words but that is the bit that is wet. Our NE weather has a mind of its own so hope it clears up, but hey it saves on having to shower, we just stand outside naked. You could call it a community shower when we are all out there together, mind you do need dark glasses.
Joyce21, where abouts in Scotland are you? We went to Glasgow about 7 years ago, the forcast was showing about 10d cooler than in the SE, I did take shirts, AND I ended up with a prickly heat rash it was so hot!
Forecast to be the last warm day today (up to 24d) here in South Wales. The washing machine is having a good work-out this week as it will be back to 'normal' September weather plus back to work next week.
It's still warm here, but yesterday's washing (3 lots of blankets from the holiday cottage) is still a bit damp, in spite of being out all day. It's very humid. Forecast says it'll be 10 degrees cooler by this time next week...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Are Liriodendron, you should see the show we put on for the Southern Tourists who come to gawp at our green and pleasant area with its rolling hills beautiful coasts, yes coasts, woods and streams, usually babbling when not overladen with rain water pouring down to the River then the sea. Off with business suits and on with the blue woad goat skin shorts and not much else apart from the aftershave, a good coating of pig dung attracts the Ladies. We watch the clouds then do our rain dance where upon it rains, the Southerners are amazed and throw us half crowns which we promptly change into Euro's, we know which side our bread is buttered. It must have been a Sun dance today it is suddenly shining brightly down upon us so must be raining in Cornwall.

We did have a hot spring when it was very wet down south.

What a mental picture, Frank!

Sorry Verdun. Frank.
