5:30pm and 30C in the shade where the sun doesn't shine all day.   At least it's dry, not muggy, and there's a breeze.    Expecting more of the same tomorrow and then set to get cloudy and wet.  My garden will be pleased.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

It's been hot, but I think storms are coming.

We're having the most unbelievable thunderstorm here in South Manchester image

Torrential downpour of rain, constant flashes of sheet and fork lighting every few seconds and the thunder is earsplitting. This has been ongoing for at least twenty minutes with no sign of easing.

It really was a wrath of the god's type storm wasn't it pansy. The rain has eased now and the skies are starting to brighten to the south but we are still seeing magnificent flashes of fork lighting to the north, and its over an hour and a half since it started.  No gales or hail here though.

We must be over the worst of it as the airports flying again image

  • Two thunderstorms so far today - more forecast for the next 12 hours or so. Not had many thunderstorms this summer, so we can't complain but I am sure I am not the only one to feel restless whilst the air is so stormy?

  • We've just had your storm Kitty - Calderdale, NE of Manchester.  2 power cuts so far.  The cat is hiding behind the sofa... perhaps I'll join her...  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
