Hostafan, Google Guernsey Knitted Pullover. All our local Fishermen wear them as they are oiled wool waterproof very warm and with the winters we have needed. The Fishemens wives would sit knitting them on four or more needless as they were all in one piece, you can still see it done in places like Staithes, in the garden you could work in all weather conditions as I did.

The story is it started in Guernsey and travelled up the Coast with the Herring Fleets, of course local accents changed names and in this area Guernsey became Ganzi. Diven be gitten your Kecks in a knot lads and lasses, I will get Cushy Butterfield to knit you one. She's a big lass and a Bonny lass and she likes her beer but she can knit Ganzi's.
