Very disappointing BL. Somewhat ironic that we now have depth and breadth in dressage, but not in showjumping - a huge swing from the 70s when Britain was a world force in jumping and dressage was seen as a slightly second rate option for those who couldn't jump.
It's more like Dad's Army in the SJ right now! Scott's horses injured, otherwise John Whitaker wouldn't have been there, but we simply don't have the young riders coming through to top level from county and national levels. It's always difficult making the transition from ponies to horses, but it's a real shame we can't seem to get that consistency at the highest level. Perhaps it will change in the coming years.
Cyclists showing the way again. Fabulous - but I couldn't stay awake for Jason Kenny's race.
More of gallop than a 'trot'...do you see what I did there? Can I get a medal ?
Is anyone else finding Mark Foster and Rebecca Adlington stomach churning or is it just me? Apparently they're more than just chums anyway, but can they just get a room and spare us the on screen touchy feely stuff...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Don't think so ... thought it was common knowledge that Mark Foster and Colin Jackson have been together for yonks and yonks.
Think the press are manipulating all this 'cos they're desperate to 'out' Colin Jackson, but he's always preferred to keep his private life private ... but it's said that they live together.
Now RA and MF are talking about this gossip and having been good friends for years. That's all

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Fairygirl/Daughter, the answer to the lack of Horse Jumping success is easy to see, back in time we loaded the horses into the wagon and traveled to events every weekend, we lived in the horse box. Now though we still have horses the events are few and far between. The local Pony club has diminished in size mainly because of the cost, few people can keep horses to the correct standard of feed and veterinary care required. Our stables were rebuilt a few years back to a high standard, not many people can do that in times of recession and it shows when big events are held, the young ones are no longer there. Millions of pounds have gone into other Olympic training schemes some of it should filter down to the horse events as it was at one time cost effective in that our horses and kit went all over the world.
As to the touchy feelly goings on some of those Discus and shot putters might show them the way home?
I agree Frank. My daughter sold her kitted-out wagon a few years ago as she no longer had the time to travel to show jumping events when working full time.
On the radio today one of the commentators said something to the effect that the show jumping competition was diminished because GB weren't in it. How do they come to that conclusion when they didn't perform well enough to qualify?

He did that hula challenge on the breakfast news. Question - who would you like to be stuck in a lift with?

Out Colin Jackson? His academy is called "The Red Shoes Academy"! How out do they want him?
Absolutely ... but you know what the press are ... they want him to 'say the words' ........... none of their business
