Morning - bright and not quite as breezy here today - great day to go to the SM and town - NOT - but needs must.
Lovely to see you DD. Things really are moving on quite quickly aren't they? Another few weeks and you will be away.
The planned walk sound good Fairy - hope the weather plays ball. We watched a couple of the CM walking programmes last night. Both now pining for the hills - although the midges seemed to be enjoying a feast on one of the programmes.
Hugs for Yvie - I don't have children or GC - but I can imagine that the house feels too quiet and empty when they've gone
Hope the rest of you all have a good day whatever you're up to.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Yvie, you're absolutely right about families abroad... They came to stay from Ireland in June, and when they left I was completely lost for a few days. But they had to go to where the job was - and to be fair, they really love the lifestyle, scenery, education system, SIL's job, etc, over there. So we wouldn't wish it otherwise from their point of view. And we will spend 5 days with them in Ireland later this month too. Can't wait!
Lochearnhead, Fairy - lovely... hope the weather holds.
Hope you're now feeling ok, Pat. Good luck with the Ipad painting! I gave up on computer design for gardens - found I was much quicker and more creative with a pencil and a piece of paper
"Independence Day" (Obelixx's term) sounds like a good description for your Great Escape, DD. With so much to do, I'm sure August will be over before you know it - we're all thinking of you and wishing you and Charlie well. xx
I'm off to paint the shed. Have a good day everyone
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Lirio, me too. I think that I'm resisting the change of style by putting off coming to grips with iPad painting. In fairness. We have been very busy lately, and I need to be in the mood to watch the DVDs again. That first hurdle is getting familiar with the variety of brushes I'm so used to using 000 or 0000 brushes for my botanical painting, that the large brushes that people use to swipe over a sky, seems unattractive. Still I'm taking every chance to photograph various cloud formations as I can, and I'll make up a folder of the various examples so that I can remember what they look like.
SM dash done early here too - one load of washing on line, another in machine, and a bit of paperwork sorting done - just a bit of deadheading in the garden, then I'll alternate between draping myself elegantly over garden lounger and sitting room sofa ... it's a hard life
My plant feeding day is still Sat/Sun ... no idea why It could be any day of the week now that I'm retired ...

Morning all.
Six months without booze.
Don't miss it one bit, nor the thousands of pounds I'd have spent on it, nor the 3 stone plus I've lost , nor the 5 inches off my waistline.
Long may it continue.

May mow the lawns later, not my favourite job, too many curved flower beds, with floppy plants spilling every where.
Have a good day.
