Sounds like your having a grand time Hosta! image I went to Amsterdam twenty one years ago, visited the Ann Frank museum, really interesting but very busy as you can imagine. Other establishments I visited were not on the museum circuit....image nor the red lit roads! It was twenty one years ago .....image

OH and I went to Amsterdam and the Hague in February because, for once, all the Vermeers were at home and on display instead of being cleaned or out on loan or their gallery being renovated which has been the case on all previous trips over the last 25 years.

The VG gallery cost about the same but had very few actual VGs on display and none of the really famous ones except for a poster in one spot saying "sorry, these sunflowers are being cleaned".

The bulbs are good though.   Spotted loads I fancied in the flower market, especially colourful bearded irises but decided to wait and buy them in the Hague so as not to have to carry them all day.  Not one, not anywhere, not even at the biggest (sic!) street market in Europe.

Not really but it is flipping cold for August.

We had curry too but home made.   Tried a new recipe for OH's lime pickle last time and it smells awful but OH likes it - but then he likes self propelling cheeses too.

    Evening all,

Absolutely shattered, but kitchen is finished, just have to clean floor (hubby managed to walk paint everywhere) and put a few things away tomorrow.  No more decorating this year, yipee.

Hosta hope you are having a good time, stay out of those coffee shopsimage

Wonky and Hazel hope you had a good day too.

Think I'm going to spend most of tomorrow relaxing.  Managed to get some deadheading done this morning and watered the pots tonight.  Think the next couple of days are supposed to be quite nice weatherwise.

Dove I hate to say it's not your imagination.

Up here in the North and West, where sunset is later, it's noticeable that the nights are drawing inimage

  • Hey GWRS, I have just seen your post about your Horseradish sauce. My hubby has had me growing it, but I'm ashamed to say that I don't know how to make it fresh (ashamed, as I work in a kitchen-how bad is that???!!). Do you have a recipe that you could share please???imageimageimage

It's definately noticeable even in South of Yorkshire Dove :(

Just wandered around the garden: found the larger hedgehog, oh so many frogs, and a bat. Best start preparing homes for autumn for them!!
