Clari, I do have a dehydrator - all my herbs and excess tomatoes get done every summer.
ive also got chicken necks in the freezer for her and every now and then I defrost one for her and she happily munches on it on and off all day, but I have to limit how often I do this. I think her jaw must get sore. She only has a few teeth. it might be tricky to work out the size to give her. Maybe finger size? How long do you give it? I assume you dry them until they are really dry?
Pat; 70'C for about 8 hours based on slices that start off at 5mm thick. They snap easily when they're done. Chicken breast is easier to slice up when it's slightly frozen. Some people then blast them at 150'c in the oven for 3 minutes to make sure any germs are thoroughly killed off.
Reggie goes through them ever so easily and Meg who is 13 and hates chewing due to teeth problems can manage them easily too. I vary the thickness of them to make it more difficult for Reggie so his teeth get a bit of a work out.
Bonus being chicken it doesn't cause stomach problems if they eat too many (Reggie will begin anyone in the kitchen for something from the treat jar and so when all the family are around he'll go through the entire jar!!)
Jolly hot here and Marie-Christine has come so we're gardening - pulling up masses of horsetail from the front beds which are a different soil from the rest of the garden and full of it. Sorting out roses while I'm on and collecting seeds of things like my cream aconitum and Red Ballon clem and pruning the wisteria which has gone mad again since its July prune.
OH is dismantling IKEA Ivar shelving to go to Possum's apartment. Sounds like he's wrecking the place. Still a bit limpy after yesterday's golf at Durbuy - very up and down hills - and says it's a touch of gout. He's been drinking the odd beer cos of the heat and we know beer sets off his gout so why?
Glad your meter is sorted now Clari. Both our dogs start their day with a bouncy greetings session and then a Dentastix. Their teeth are in very good nick but the green minty ones I sometimes buy do strange things at the other end. Not good for IBS doggies then.
Your picnic sounds wonderful Dove. Enjoy.

Thanks ChIcky. We just had a look. They showed a small part of that video on the news recently, but not the whole one. Hubby is nowhere experienced yet for that .

I now have a shiny new smart meter fitted for our gas and electricity. I think his lordship will be fitted with a head torch from now on.
