Thanks. I don't need anything that big but I do want sturdy, if I buy one. I shall have to see what's available in the new location and do some price comparisons.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Joyce - I missed that weather report. Brilliant! I'm lost without the subtitles....
They can be extremely amusing...
Think I'm having a breakdown - no 'lympics to watch, and I realised last night I'd put the wrong captions on lots of my hill pix yesterday, partly because I can't see the pix clearly in that file that opens 'cos they're tiny, and partly 'cos I changed my mind slightly about my walk....
...perhaps I should lie down in a darkened room instead of doing the dinner...
Never heard that expression before - 'cauldrife'
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
My mum's mum was a Wegie! Not that we ever met her but that side of the family is all very Scottish. Cauldrife is used here too but not so much nowadays...by the young folk. It is by my mum. She's always foundered!!!
My bessie mate is a "East Coaster". Before I started teaching her to speak properly she had a language all of her own. There were sare heeds and ken this and ken that. She was the first person I ever heard talking about "chaavs" fae Leith. She's much better now but it's taken nearly 30 years! Last week she managed to say balcony instead of bawlcony!

They're professional grade tunnels.
The tubes are 4mm thick steel 50mm diameter and the cover is said to withstand 100mph winds. Mine has survived just a wee bit less.
My hot tunnel ( all poly) is , sorry , old school measurements. 48 feet by 21 feet, and the cool tunnel ( netting up to 1m ) is 56 x 21.
They cost a bit over £3,000 each but seem to be designed to last.

Fairy, I hadn't heard of "cauldrife" until I came to Ayrshire. Similarly "winterdykes" for a clothes airer.
Ooh - I like that one Joyce. I'd have thought that was something I'd climb over on a December walk!

Ditto, Fairy and I have ordered a new electric blanket in readiness.
