In the 1970.s I remember a road here in Bristol which had 20 or 30 trees FILLED with Starlings.

I left the house i had been staying in at about 7.00 am and the noise was deafening.....not many cars and loads of Birds.

    Now its changed around. :'(
Everyone is just trying to be Happy.....So lets help Them.
  • Mr Squirrel scoffing a whole peanut which he had stashed in the window box by my kitchen window - literally just the other side of the glass (from my washing up!).

Heard the cry of a buzzard this afternoon and looked up to see 5 of them riding a thermal above the garden. We see them fairly often as our garden shares a boundary with the South Downs National Park but the most I have seen together before was three. Wonderful sight which definitely lifted my mood.
  • Astonished to see this chap mooching lazily around the garden in his own good time, middle of the day too.

    What is it?
  • A fox, rather wet and mangie, but definitely a fox.

  • @LToby: He's been around on a regular basis most days, so I guess he's fairly contented. *Today even though it was quite windy, he occupied his favourite 'spot' (just outside my kitchen window) and spent around 30 minutes scoffing several whole peanuts, in their cases & all 'cached' up to 3" deep in the loose compost!!
