Mr Squirrel scoffing a whole peanut which he had stashed in the window box by my kitchen window - literally just the other side of the glass (from my washing up!).
The goldfinches have clearly understood that papi Jo regularly refills the feeder with sunflower seeds. As soon as my back is turned, they rush like gluttons.
Heard the cry of a buzzard this afternoon and looked up to see 5 of them riding a thermal above the garden. We see them fairly often as our garden shares a boundary with the South Downs National Park but the most I have seen together before was three. Wonderful sight which definitely lifted my mood.
@LToby: He's been around on a regular basis most days, so I guess he's fairly contented. *Today even though it was quite windy, he occupied his favourite 'spot' (just outside my kitchen window) and spent around 30 minutes scoffing several whole peanuts, in their cases & all 'cached' up to 3" deep in the loose compost!!
