I'm very fond of Dave. :)
It's the Only Fools and Horses/Trigger  thing - All right, Dave  ;)
He was originally Peg Leg Pete, as he had a bit of a limp, but he's fine now.

Buzzards are always Bob. Character from a programme decades ago with a character called Bob Buzzard.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • I did start calling it Fred, but it could be a Freda.😄

Yes - Dave might well be Davina.
    He's a bit of a big girl's blouse too  :D

  • 😆
  • One very chilled out froggie. He/she had a friend with them but that one jumped into the water to hide when I came close with the camera.

I'm so glad I put this pond in, its only been about 6 weeks and there have been two or three frogs around it most days for ages, I'm so impressed by how quickly they found it and started using it.

  • We just took down a conifer. A shame because it was a magnificent yellow cone, but 30ft high and showing no signs of stopping growing. The wood pigeons have been nesting in it every year, never managing a chick, but eggs every so often.

They now fly in to land in the top of the tree, put their legs out to perch, and suddenly realise there's no tree. Cue a lot of startled flapping, a squawk and a bad landing somewhere else. This afternoon I watched Mr. try and land in a non-existent tree over 20 times. He's now walking up and down our drive trying to figure out what's happening. 😆😆

  • Down the bottom of the garden under the plum tree

We have a very large Mrs Toad who hangs around outside our front door in the evenings, we have to make sure we put a light on if we go outside after dark otherwise she gets trodden on. She has been known to invite herself indoors if the door is left open
  • So warm this evening 22C a little while ago ... we had the door wide open onto the terrace and listened to the hedgehogs crunching their biscuits very loudly ... just like mid summer ... except it was dark 🦔 🌒

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

I just went to top up the food on the bird table and when I lifted up the mesh tray that sits on the top I found there was a wood mouse sat under it staring back at me with the guilty look of one that has just been caught stealing.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
