@Fire he was using it when I released him, making some really good leaps.

I suppose it depends if it gets infected, but I'll keep an eye out for him.

    Greenhouse doors.....
I have a metal greenhouse with a sliding door ( well, two doors, but one's stuck shut.)
A blue tit spends the night in the channel at the top of the doors, so each evening before I close up I tap on the door. The blue tit flies out of the channel to the nearest tree, and returns soon afterwards, when I'm gone.
It goes to bed long before I finish outside but this arrangement works. I'd hate to hurt it when closing the door, so always tap to alert it.

Was lifting some paving slabs earlier and found these two little beauties (in my eyes anyway) under one

If there is a next time @Sheps try putting it in the greenhouse along with a dish if water ( if non of the plants have a resovour)
I had one live in mine for three years, before it matured and went off to make more little frogs in the nearest pond.😁

Wish I’d had a camera with me yesterday. I stopped to admire a clump of very pretty little purply coloured flowers next to the car park, and realised it was almost covered in bees! All sorts and sizes, happily investigating the flowers. I’ll have to go back specially with my iPad to get a picture for an ID.

I think this little guy was just looking for some shady place to rest - it was over 100F outside here yesterday!

I love watching the birds' antics; parents teaching babies, pigeons seeing off jackdaws, the sparrows preference for the feeder which spins cos it's on a chain (we call it the sparrow-go-round).. and yesterday, two pigeons having a stand off, so one gave in and flew onto the bird bath, when the other one was back to eating, he dropped forwards like a gymnast and almost rolled onto the floor so as not to attract attention to himself. 😄

Hard to spot him, but I suppose that's the point.
