Singing Gardener send your lovely deer here! i would love to watch it - tho me being close to town...i doubt it would last long...

Yesterday I finally spotted my Black Bird Baby! delighted he does look rather funny with practically no tail, but manages to move around just fine. put out a couple dried mealies for everyone to have, came back to 2 collared doves, ofly shy birds as soon as i appeared they both took off, but my resident Wood pidgeon just looked at me n' plodded on doing his duty of cleaning up.

As i took on huge battle of digging up the ground elder in the garden, I found a couple of ants, which i stopped and watched as they went on about their business, do you get solitary ants? as both ants wern't near any other ants both opposite sides of the garden too... always thought where u got one u got the whole swarm...

I love the photo of the wanna be duck pidgeon, didn't think they'r sit in the water, closest mine goes is a quick drink :)

You're welcome to it, Lucy! It's eaten all the lower leaves of my climbing roses and my bluebell flowers. We've ordered a deer deterrer which flashes a light and plays the radio(!) when it senses movement.

I'll swap for you blackbird - I do get them at my feeders but have never seen a nest round here.

For the past few mornings we've been able to sit in bed with our  :mug:  :mug:  and watch a buzzard circling in the sky not far away ... think it must be near the old woodland around the river and on the edge of the marshes ... magical ... we're on the edge of a city and can watch buzzards from our bed  :luv:

How lovely dove, buzzards used to be a real rarity for me to see but see lots now, don’t know if that’s an east Anglia thing or if they have just made a bit of a comeback?
My moment yesterday was when the mother blackbird who follows me around whenever I have the spade or watering can came and plucked an insect right off my shoulder. Scared the living daylights out of me!

They've definitely made a comeback @Jellyfire ... I've lived in Suffolk and Norfolk since being tiny in the mid '50s and had never seen a buzzard except up in Scotland or in the West Country until the last 10 years ... at first I saw them in Cambs/S Lincs when visiting MIL, then the first one I saw in Suffolk was in the Waveney area and then in the patch between the A12 and the coast, between Minsmere and Woodbridge ... now I see them regularly in the area south of Beccles and in the past couple of summers I've heard them overhead here ... but to watch them from the comfort of my bed shock  luv

Mind you, that's where I often am when I hear the wigeon family groups pass over just recently, and it's where I was when I watched a heron on the neighbour's roof lol

Love the blackbird ... better than Trump brushing dandruff off your shoulder eh?!  ;)

Ah that’s good to hear. Yep I only ever saw them on holiday in Devon/Cornwall etc, but they circle over us here regularly. Love to see an animal making a comeback

Now trump taking an insect off my shouder would be truly terrifying

We often see Red Kites when visiting in S. Lincs/Cambs ... we've seen them over @nutcutlet 's garden and other places nearby ... then when we were in Market Deeping the other week there was one swooping quite low over a housing estate near Tesco's  :o
They're moving this way too ... we've seen them a few times now in the area between Binham Priory and Snettisham Reserve  bounce
