We had a sudden little clump of fledglings around this morning. 3 pied wagtail babies - this is the second brood - only one survived from the first ones so good news there. 2 house sparrows and another brown one I couldn't get a good look at - might have been a robin? The swallow fledglings in the garage are all flying in the day but still coming back to the nest at night, They pack themselves in (4 babies) and Mum sits on the beam beside them. Dad has his own roost spot a bit further off. We've got two other swallow nests in the outbuildings but the garage family are ones we see very close up.

Steephill, you do provide some of the most interesting wildlife pictures! Did you get the fox up the tree on video by any chance? You might be able to sell that to You’ve Been Framed. I think some of the online versions of UK newspapers also buy interesting videos. Might make enough to buy some new plants!

Yes, I can image the fox being carefully lifed up and then his feet wired in so that he stays put. :D

I was pegging out some washing and noticed a lizard basking on the garden bench right beside me in the kid's play area. I managed to encourage it onto my hand before a toddler tried to eat it and relocated it to the stone wall. It looked to be a smaller one than the one I saw on the weekend so hopefully we're getting a bit of a colony building up again now. We don't get many cats in the garden at the moment so that's probably helping a lot.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.

I’ll send you some of the cats we get in our garden if you like ! We are the only house in the street that doesn’t have pets any more , all the other homes seem to have at least 2 cats each. Our garden is the local cat loo and bird catching area .

Send them to the cats you find in your garden to a cat rescue centre in Glasgow. After all, they must be feral cats. Why else would they be loose in your garden?

The usual squirrel enjoying breakfast on our patio. Right as I work on my laptop on the table in my living room / home office.
I uploaded a few such videos under my youtube name tomato.pazzo.
