Just a reminder that I didn’t knit that! I don’t know who does, but they are very clever.

    Songbird 2.
    Doll pattern cont.
Sew up side seams and fill with toy fill.
Sew lines for mouth and eyes, sew line areas for arms, as well as leg division.
I also knit some I-cord to make a tie. I always make sure this is securely sewn on so that it can’t be pulled off.

I hope I haven’t forgotten anything.  Let me know.  PatE.

Other things I decide (at the time ) 😳 whether to use the larger needles (9) for the hat or to stay on the same size as the face (11).  When I sew the line for the arms, I usually only sew for 8 rows and and same sort of decision making for the leg division. The feet I also sew different sizes as I feel the yarn warrants it. Sometimes gathered or just turned under.

Also, in case you’ve forgotten the i-cord pattern. Here it is again.

Maybe I can sleep now. Hopefully I’ve not missed any bits. 😇

Oops, I’ve just realised that I called it “my pattern”. The original pattern was from a clever lady in the district, who I think has now passed, but her daughter used to have a lovely craft shop where I bought lots of things several years ago. That shop has been closed for some time now. Anyway, I’ve obviously played with the original pattern over the years, so I hope I haven’t offended anyone who remembers the clever lady who invented it. 😱

Pat E, those dolls are so cute . I have been knitting for about sixty years . This is the first time I have come across I-cords. Thanks for posting the pattern .I will use it when I am toy making .
