You are very welcome B. Omori too. All welcome. There are no skills to match - it’s all just experimenting and sharing - like with gardening - we play and try things out.

everyone and anyone is entirely welcome to post - it would be great to see new joiners. I haven’t made much since the winter. It’s inspiring to see what people are playing with.

I have a load of dye stuffs in the fridge that I want to get back to. Petal bashing, dying with nettles, mixed media mess, all sorts. I hope art doesn’t become a winter pursuit.

I’m enjoying learning more about photography. Slowly. There is great satisfaction for me there. A surprising and increasing amount. I find now that I go to places just with the intention of trying for some “good photos”. That is new and motivating. My eyes don’t like it.

I feel depressed that people feel so judged inside and out with art and craft play. I admin a local garden group and a local art/craft group. Both online groups have about 70 people in. Both are all about play and experiment. About two thirds of both groups are *the same neighbours*.

The garden group is pinging all day with questions, photos, give aways, frustrations and delights, like this forum. The craft group is like sludge. In that group I know are lovely potters, stained glass makers, bakers, painters, portraitists, jewellers and on and on. People are full of curiosity about each other and crafts. They want to learn and share but they will not post. There is a sense of shame and fear.

As they know little about growing they are happy to mess about and share mucky attempts without fear of judgement. But when it comes to ART it’s a whole different ball game and it makes me so sad.

The same with singing, dancing, writing… we have been condemned by people close to us so early and so brutally that now the blood will not come from the stone. So much emotional pain is there.

I'm glad you mentioned writers @Fire
AnniD has done some brilliant poems, and would love her to post some. I think the last one she did was about a seagull in Tescos car park, really funny!
@Omori thats lovely very vibrant, glad to hear you are mixing your mediums too. Its lovely to throw all the old rules out of the window! My watercolours used to come out like oil paint, never did quite get the water bit!😁

I wouldn’t be surprised if @pitter-patter had some art up his sleeve to share?

Regarding judgment, I suppose art is very personal and people can be incredibly critical, so it can be a scary thing to share. In addition, we tend to be our own worst critics. But I agree, the more art being shared, the better.
