I phoned my GP surgery at 8.15 on Friday morning and had an appointment at 2.45 that afternoon - I was checked by a GP and passed on to the Practice Nurse who is qualified to prescribe and I came home with appropriate medication and am well on the mend now. I think the NHS is wonderful - and if the rich paid their taxes instead of salting their money away in off-shore funds etc and if they also relied on the NHS rather than going private, it could be even better.
Did anyone hear Priti Patel on Radio 4's Today programme the other day, back-tracking and going round and around in circles when the interviewer challenged her to say what the Brexit 'team' would do with the £350m they claim (wrongly) goes to the EU each week - it was very revealing

Yes, I did, Dove. Revealing indeed how "tied in knots" Brexit spokespeople get when challenged... not that Bremain "facts" are necessarily free from exaggeration.
We had a wonderfully useful 2-hour presentation last week, given by our local U3A Current Affairs group, giving the results of their unbiased research into EU matters - such things as how the EU is run, the future for young people in & out of the EU, migration, agriculture & fisheries, and the economic context. We weren't allowed to ask "biased" questions, and the personal views (in or out) of the speakers weren't revealed until the end - the purpose was to inform so we could make up our own minds based on the evidence, rather than on rumours and lies. Really thought-provoking.
I'm afraid I'm a bit suspicious of people who've made up their minds based on "gut feeling" alone.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Another problem with the Brexit figures is that they keep saying " we could spend it on NHS or, farmers won't lose out on subsidies because "WE'LL" carry on paying them "
Brexit supporters are not one party, and even if they were, they'd have to win a general elecition and have an outright majority to say with any confidence A: how much money they would spend, and B: where they'd spend it.
Bojo , Gove and IDS have all said things in the past that show their true feelings about the NHS.

If we could collect all the bull**** being spouted by both sides we wouldn't need to buy any fertiliser for our gardens for many years.
Also, if we were actually being provided with facts rather than a level of spin which would have made Tony Blair dizzy, we might have something other than gut feeling to go by.

No doubt if the vote is for leave we " could " spend £350m extra a week on the NHS . "could" of course is not the same as " will ".
Our local hospital is so " overstretched" they're talking about closing it down.

Indeed Liri - I find that it's better to use my brain for thinking; my intestines weren't designed for the job

That 'seer' Nick Clegg, wrote this a little late:
