I read that taking vitamin B is effective - I tried it on holiday on the West coast of Scotland & it seemed to do the trick - either deterred or counteracted whatever causes the itch & swelling. You have to take it daily for a week before you go anywhere with biting insects. If you need long-term protection just take it all the time.
Re the Antihistamine type tablets yep you cannot drink on them as they can cause problems, Some types make you drowsey so do not drive or operate machinery if affected Ok .
But if you use Antistine cream, you are not going to be affected in that way and... You can still partake of Vino Collapso or what you fancy..
Someone mentioned WASPS... The lil swines stings are Alkaline so, swab the bite with Vinegar which is acidic hence it neutralises the venom...
It doen't work on Bee stings, as they are themselves Acidic and you can have serious reactions to those, in rare cases Anaphylactic shock etc.. In which case a visit to A/E is indicated asap..
Bee stings - onion has worked for me. As for Vitamin B, all I can say is that normally if I'm bitten I get big swellings; the year I tried Vit. B not a bump, even though I know I was bitten. It's worth trying - it's not going to do you any harm.
Original Avon Skin So Soft - I'm the type who gets bitten as soon as step of a plane and the bites swell and blister - last year at a meeting my colleagues had a sweepstake on how many bites I would have after going to Corfu for a week - 31 was the winning number!
After that my friends son who was in the Army told me about Avon SSS - used in Crete for a week and not 1 bite - whoo hoo!
I get bitten by spiders which leave a small red spot that produces watery fluid when squeezed and once it then caused a 2 inch circle of solid matter under the skin which lasted 2 weeks
Had to get some strong meds to disperse it
I now where trousers tucked into jeans or just shorts so they dont get trapped and bite me
Everyone is just trying to be Happy.....So lets help Them.
I take an antihistamine daily on holiday as I suffer from prickly heat, this also reduces reaction to mozzie bites. I plaster myself in boots extra strong insect repellant too, I also use it if I go into the garden.
I haven't tried SSS although I did know about its reputation. Might give it a go down the garden, but wouldn't risk it on hols as last time I didn't use insect repellant I was rewarded with 42 bites on one leg, below the knee. Not an experience I wish to repeat.
When dating her now husband my daughter went travelling with him. They booked into a hotel on Corfu and after a night celebrating in the bar he fell asleep naked on the balcony with the light on. He had so many bites he ended up in hospital, all I can say it's a good job he fell asleep face down.

Took vitamin B tabs for months on end. Didn't work.
I do not think Vit B is gonna help..

Never travel without it
My garden has effectively doubled in size now that I can go down the shady end
Lilly £199 seems a trifle expensive. I'm sure you can get it a little cheaper

Trousers tucked in to jeans. Now there's a picture.

Tray my mum's the same. She gets great big water blisters. They're horrible and can scar.
