Lantana, me and my daughter both suffer with very sensitive skin and habitually use unscented , simple shower gels and moisturizers. In my daughter's case also a lotion from her GP. We are able to use the Skin so Soft dry oil body spray as an insect / mossy deterrent providing we have used our usual lotion underneath. You need to buy the ORIGINAL , greenish labelled one as this is the fragrance that deters insects. For us it works, for me out gardening ,for her hiking on Dartmoor , the Brecon Beacons not one bite. It's even on offer at the moment for £199. I've even sprayed it on my hair as an extra defence , smells lovely .

Yep. That's the fellow LB. image It's going to be like a red carnation or a secret handshake for gardeners. We'll know each other by the smell.

I think it was FairyGirl who said that Avon refused to rebrand it as a repellent, probably different lincence required or something, but I see they have a slightly more macho looking version on the go. To be honest it was a man who told me about it and he didn't give a monkey's that it was a "girlie" product. That's a real man! image

Yes ppauper. It's well known as an insect repellent but they don't want to concede that point apparently!

I've seen  big hairy men reduced to tears because of midges. Who's supposed to be the stronger sex again?...image

It was probably that it would be classified as medical with all the concomitant tests.

I would say that antihistamines are great if you don't imbibe alcohol. They stop working within 20minutes. Therefore it's best not to get bitten in the first place . That is one of the reasons I am grateful to those who pointed me in the direction of skin so soft. However, it would be nice to smell the roses rather than sss. Ho hum

    In London. Keen but lazy.
