I have a serious hang up about "monkey" nuts, had to laugh. He used to break the shell suck the nut out making an awful noise, and there would be also bits of shell everywhere! How do you grow lentils then, thats something I would like to try?
I meant to grow summer savory, but didn't find it in a GC and was too disorganised to get it online. But, while looking for it, I came across a stevia plant earlier this week, so I got that.
I'm trying soya as well and melons and a framberry. And artichokes, but I sowed them too late, so won't get any crop from them this year.
Nanny Beach - believe it or not I just used some lentils from the supermarket. I did a germination test first to see if they would sprout and they did. I only know about growing lentils from the internet and the time for picking is supposed to be 80-110 days.
Wow, the peanuts look amazing, thanks for the pictures. Must try those! And stevia also sounds interesting. It's certainly something I'd like to learn to cook with. So many crops - so little time. :-D
Aster2, what is a framberry (a cross between strawberry & raspberry)? I had not heard of it until I happened to notice them yesterday at the gc. They looked like they grew like a strawberry.

Nanny Beach – I am growing lentils like peas, the plants grow to 18-24" – but as I've never grown before only time will tell.

fif2, how on earth did you discover you could just grow these lentils?
I love lentils, maybe I should give them a go. A framberry sounds interesting.
I've got a black raspberry plant in a pot at the moment, just can't decide where to plant it
