Hi all, Thanks for all your kind comments re mum, must admit I am cross with the home and have made my views known.
RB glad to hear that your son has been discharged and I hope the court process isn't as painful as the injury.
Following my healthy juicing this morning I walked into town to run some errands, whilst I was there I treated myself to a very healthy salad for lunch, so I'm feeling very virtuous It's a pity about the Thorntons chocolate bar I ate on the way home
Have spent the rest of the day in the garden, had a lot of deadheading to do, after the rain yesterday, the roses have gone mad so I gave them a feed and also planted a few things.
I've got a lot of crysanths starting to flower, this feels odd to me as I don't normally get them until the end of the summer. I've given them a bit of a chelsea chop to hold them back.
Never mind YS. Chocolate is good for you - as long as it's good chocolate. When I did lots of juicing I found it was also god for the compost heap.
I am so discumnockerated with this flipping coughing lark I have been reduced to making a spreadsheet of the seeds I bought at Chelsea FS including web links for cultivation needs. How sad is that? Just need to do the couple of hundred packs I have in my treasure chest now.
Roast peppers are wonderful and I also like them raw on their own or sliced and baked with sausages and red onions and cherry toms and in my sweet and sour red salad with red cabbage and red beetroot and red radishes and red apple and red kidney beans. Dress with soy sauce and balsamic vinegar. No oil. Yum.
Wouldn't roast a cucumber but we like that too. In fact the only veggies I really dislike are aubergines and okra and swedes and Brussels sprouts. And asparagus peas. Complete waste of time.
Need to do a bit of Chelsea chopping too when the thoracic earthquakes stop.

You could eat parsnips this week, Fairy... but maybe not, they're imported from Peru or somewhere this time of year.
I like all vegetables. And all fruit. In fact, most sorts of food...
Hope you feel better soon, Obelixx. That recipe for sausage, maple syrup and swede looks good - might try it on the grandchildren.
Yvie, hope your mum is ok. Some of the staff in these places seem really badly trained - though you'd think a standard dollop of common sense might have helped in your mum's case.
The water butt is half full. And it's supposed to rain tomorrow. Hope the summer isn't over...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
"discumnockerated" now there's a lovely word I haven't heard since first OH died, one of his favourites.
Had a good day today. Did lots of gardening until 3pm then we went out to tea with a new friend (actually met years ago but lost touch) and saw her lovely garden with lots of shrub roses.
Such a warm evening that we ate in the garden, listening to the birds preparing for bed. Pasta with broad beans and mange tout peas from the garden in it with smoked salmon.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Not long in from the garden - decided to do a few things after having dinner as it was cooler.
To be fair, the girls aren't bad at doing things, including making dinners now and again, but it would be nice if they did it without being asked...
Older daughter does her own ironing Lantana, although as she's a student, the clothes mostly just get 'folded'. She has to do shirts for work though. Younger one struggles to unfold the ironing board...
Good word BL
Off to my bed soon after doing a map as I'm going to walk after work tomorrow. Weekend weather's looking wet but reasonable tomorrow, so I'll nip up to Arrochar to do a Corbett there I haven't done yet.
Sleep well all
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Just a quick scan through this evening as I have been busy all day. Helped with an interschool sports day until 14:00hrs and then dashed back into my school to teach my English class, luckily just the schools are just across the road from each other. Embarrassingly, even though I managed to arrive with my lesson plan and resources, including board writers I hadn't thought the dress code through properly and ended up teaching in my 'skorts'. There are a couple of middle aged men in my class and although I was a bit uncomfortable they seemed to be admiring the view.
Anyway, after getting home, quickly fed the family and was then outside until dark (and midges) got the better of me and worked in the garden - I will be ready for Open Day Sunday, I will....
Sorry to hear about poor burnt mum, seems a bit careless. hope she recovers ok.
LP, hope you are Ok after your fall too.
Love parsnips and all vegetables and also ate dinner outside. Stupidly, forgot we had been invited to local restaurant for a free meal, (special Thursday menu that wasn't special last Thursday). Nevermind, would have given me less time in the garden.
Right, must go to bed, have a whole pile of stuff to do tomorrow including a six hour shift at the Chateau and yet more guests arriving, not sure I live a normal life, I seem to be constantly chasing my tail.
Good night all and hope to catch up better tomorrow.

Oh, nearly missed you there Fairy, I have just 'docked' Charlie's pocket money by 1€ because he keeps putting his jogging bottoms in the washing basket inside out with underpants wrapped around them - trying to train him for later years. Do feel like a constant nag sometimes.

Gosh DD please do look after yourself you sound so busy!
Since giving up chocolate, alcohol, and those treats you really shouldn't have, and pushing myself to walk more and more in an effort (I'm even learning to run; no mean feat considering a disability I have) to loose the wobbly bits I can proudly say that I have...

Have to agree with you re peppers obelixx - I love them done any way, but they're superb roasted.
Like parsnips too, but rarely do them as the girls don't like them.
Curried parsnip soup is lovely.
Hope you're ok after your fall LP.
Yvie - has no one in these places got any common sense? Really unacceptable. Hope your mum is alright.
Admiring the wallpaper is one thing...buying it is another
Not sure I'll bother initially - probably just paint. I'd have to dig the pasting table out of the shed for a start, and that could take some time...
Quiet here as the girls are now away on holiday with their Dad. I'll have to get the washing in and out myself for a week....

Bum!!
Feel for you Clari, happens to me all the time.
Deep down though I am sure we are super fit.
