I've just done them T'bird and Wonks   image

There were quite a lot of cars in the parking area but there's two other Munros you do from the same point so some people will have been doing them. The chap I met at the first summit was lovely - spent ages chatting to him about the runner, and all sorts of other stuff! Only met a couple of other people so it was very quiet and peacefuI - the silence is deafening! I get annoyed if I see two cars in the car park when I arrive...image

Loads of bees and  hoverflies buzzing about on the way. Weirdest moment was when I reached the second summit cairn and a butterfly fluttered by. 3,600 feet above sea level. Astonishing image

Enjoy your day and keep calm  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Morning all.

Still sneezing and blutering and wiping it on the sofa. Very unsettled sleep capped off by the smoke alarm starting to peep. No idea why, it's a mains one. (Any clues would be gratefully recieved). I went up the step ladder, jiggled it and it shut up.

I slept in really late so I'm all behind myself. I hate that when you wake up and half the day's gone already.

Enjoy all your many and varied activities....I'll be on the sofa.

    Morning all.

    Weather better today.

Happy Fathers Day, to all Dads. Remembering those who are no longer with us too.

    Take care everyone. X

    PP - re smoke detectors.

Our mains detector also has a battery in it for when there is a power cut. This should be replaced about every 18 months but I only remember when it starts to give an intermittent chirrup - once about every 10mins usually starting at 2.15am. 10 mins is just long enough to get back to sleep before the next chirrup...

Failing that dust or tiny spiders / insects can set the alarm off so vacuuming them once a week is recommended. I usually do mine at regular 18 month intervals at 2.15am ....

Thanks TB. You made me laugh. It wasn't even chirruping it was like alien wailing (cos I've heard that and it sounds exactly like it!!) image I suspected it might be the back up battery so I'll have a closer look when I can step away from the tissues for long enough.

It was 3.38! I must have missed my vacuuming slot. image

I think I'm on the mend now, so you won't be long PP, finger's crossed image

OH has mowed both 'lawns' and I've edged the front one and weeded the front border and driveway - had to lay on my tummy to get at the couch grass taking up residence among the herbaceous salvias image

It all looks much better now.

I've come in to make a lunch of asparagus, poached eggs and ailoli  - then I'll go back out to edge the back lawn and do some planting/pottering/pruning/deadheading.

Wonky - good idea, but I've got some borlotti bean seeds so I think I'll sow them direct and get some chard and other goodies in the runner bean patch - have a lovely afternoon.
