Just stopped for a cuppa before planting starts.

Welcome Sunshine smiler. Anyone who brings either , or both of those is most welcome.

Nice to see you again poppyred. Glad we haven't frightened you off.

    Minor Royalty?? PAH.

The red carpet is being vacuumed as we speak and Asprey have promised my tiara has been taken from the vault and is winging its way here as we speak. ( and there's a curry in the fridge )

We're going away for a wedding in Cyprus in a few days time.  As the weather was warming up and I have a load of new plants plus the veggie patch to look after I decided to invest in a soaker hose and timer.  What happens then?  Need you ask?  The temperature drops 10 degrees and it starts p.p.p.p.p,p.persisting down!!!!!!!  Don't you just love the British summer image

10 degrees and persisting down? Sounds  like here in Devon most of the year. image

It's lovely here now. Glorious sunshine over the last few days has given way to cooler, but perfect gardening weather.

It is the 1st June today more like a winters day image

All this talk of holidays has given me itchy feet but I'll have to wait till August.  I decided to change my avatar to a summery oneimage.  I hate to rub it in but I've had to come in from the garden because it was too hotimage.  After reading your post Topbird I've been wandering round the garden to see what I need to stake before we get strong winds.  The answer is lots and lotsimage

GWRS I hope you have a great time on holiday.  Are you cruising again?

Hosta love the idea of the red carpet and tiaraimage.

Sorry folks but I'm sweltering. I've been to a local farm that diversifies for a few weeks into plant sales. I got a taster of the heat in a polytunnel Hosta.  Phew!!!!!

Enjoy your hols Dove and GWRSimage Dove, remember to view Hosta's artistic rockimage

Looking forward to the tiara Hosta image  ............ and the curry image

Runner bean seeds are in their grow tubes and  are now sitting in the warm studio awaiting our return when I fully expect them to be sprouting nicely image

Bird feeders are all topped up, lupins and other wayward types have been staked/restrained and the garden is in as fit a state to be left for 10 days as it could possibly be.  Our neighbour will water the tomatoes, keep an eye on other plants and help herself to broad beans.

OH has fixed the loo cistern which had suddenly become temperamental and refused to re-fill properly - he is now clearing up the kitchen and will tidy the living  room while I drink a coffee then go and pack -he is my hero image

Homemade leek and potato soup is simmering on the hob for our supper image
