There was a young lady from spain

Who liked to dance out in the rain

    The neighbours would laugh

    As she took her bath

Then wrung out her nicks down the drain

There once was a lady named mabel

Who potted her plants on her table

    Her OH was p***ed

    Cos his dinner he missed

So he banished her off to the stable

And there there was horse poo a plenty,

She sold it for one pound and twenty,

    Said Mynx "my that's cheap,

    I'll take the whole heap"

And her man is still running on empty!

There is  a young man who's called Dan

Of whom I am really a fan.

    He answers us all

And is not known to call

old and unreconstructed who don't understand how to rhyme or scan "idiots" image

How true SV. The poor man must be demented! That'll teach him to leave well alone. I'll bet he calls us much worse than that when he's talking to himself in the mirror. image

I read today PP that talking to yourself out loud is a sign of intelligence.

There once was a lady called Vi

Who chatted out loud and said "hi"

    to her image in glass

though she talked out her a***

And thought she was of IQ quite  high.

This thread has been an absolute delight today. I've had so many laughs!

PP - what a joy it is to smile and see the funny side of life!  There's too much negative day by day, and, like you, having discovered this thread, I have had a permanent grin on my face!

  • Told by Jewel and Warriss in the dim and distant past:

There was a cow from Huddersfield

Who had a cow who wouldn't yield

The reason why she wouldn't yield

She didn't like her udders field.

Good one Malcolm.  But just wondering - who are/were "Jewel and Warriss"?  Not names I recognise, I'm afraid.
