My rhododendrons looking good today in the sunshine. They seem to have popped out of nowhere. image

This is looking rather marvellous this year after I managed to cut back all the things that were cramping its style last year, I am very pleased with it. image

Aym, I'm in north essex. I planted my bulbs ridiculously late this year (rather early 2016) so i still have white daffodils and muscari in flower! ? I have a lot of paths and stepping stones so i don't need to walk on the soil. I dug out plenty when i took the grass out... It is also great for my 3 year old who likes to run around and jump (he's got very good at avoiding the plants!)

So it's ok then? All I did was shove it in and it got a bit of fish blood and bone and a mulch when everything else did. It doesn't get much water, maybe a flick with the hose once a week max if it doesn't rain.

The aquilegi haha. It just looked a bit worn out. Never had one or seen one before. I've got 12 started from seed but got this to give me a head start.

haha I got really annoyed earlier that weeds were springing up everywhere and then got a nice little surprise when most were wild flower seedlings I sowed. I hope you get lovely surprises

image Loving Clematis Alpina Markham's Pink (immature specimen but looking nice this year)

When I say immature I mean young, less than 2 years old so not reached the top of the trellis yet.   I brought with me a sucker from my last garden of Alpina .... something else and it's more lilac than this one but the same double flower so the plan is for the lilac and pink to merge down the trellis.  I've also planted a napaulensis down there so that should be interesting in winter when the alpina are bare (if it survives?).image  Bit of an experiment that one but it seems happy so far.
