I got so excited when Monty walked past his patch last episode and was pleased when he stopped for a chat by them.

Ha the piilu is lovely but the birds think so too and have pooed all over it, that's the only flower not splattered. Vialii coming along, can't wait to see the purple bottom. The foxglove was a Waitrose special so can't take much credit but have put out 12 babies that I've grown from seed do hopefully they'll make a nice show next year. i watered this morning very early as it was a bit dull but by lunch time it was blistering may have to go around again later and give everything another sprinkle. Found my first lily beetle of the year today but only one, checked all 100+ lilies and all fine apart from 1 tiny hole and 1 single beetle. I'm very lucky this year. Hardly any slugs, a few snails I've removed into the farmers field, manageable aphids but I riddled with massive buzzy flies in the house ?

I've loved looking at all your beautiesimage.  The summer has arrived up here and at last things are moving.  Yesterday the first poppy bloomed.

Been away shopping for 3 hours and suddenly, so many names and lovely flowers burst onto the scene!

Racine (Are you French? Some Root? I have seen your name before and I keep thinking of root) Seeing those the prolific astrantias, I want to kick myself not buying the seeds (Why was I so mean?). My garden could be as pretty as yours and there won't be any unsightedly gaps. They are literally singing .. and dancing..

Lesley: Your lupins are just fantastic. There must lupins and LUPINS. Mine must be the former. 3 stems and 2 and a half loose hanging blues and whites. No wonder Dave Morgan said he had 31 spikes. Incredible. Yours are so impressive. Yours must be the same of PLP's

The oriental poppy is so photogenic. Centaura 'amethyst on ice' has a most wonderful combination. I must get a packet of seeds.

Gloves: Simply divine. SIMPLY WONDERFUL - big and bold and so many. I have never heard of this variety; and by Jove, what an impression it has made on me and I am sure on all of us! Thank you everyone.

Must get one of this, too. Thank you for uploading such wonders!

Sophie: I agree with you this double is not bad, but I feel like I have been sent the wrong cultivar. I was so looking forward to seeing the single petals with the lovely and distinctive centre..

Hi Aym.  No, not French but I do speak the language.  My username is just a nerdy movie reference from The Untouchables.  If you are a French speaker I can highly recommend this website - http://arrosoirs-secateurs.com/?lang=fr

Thanks for the Astrantia love.  I didn't want to post too many pictures but just look at the colours in the petals of Star of Beauty. Pretty amazing huh?  And there is another insect for added interest image
