The ones in my back garden are only just starting to bud but the ones out the front have been flowering for almost a fortnigh. I keep cutting a little bunch each day to encourage more. you can smell them as soon as you walk in the room image

  • Yes, I have been picking our sweat peas for a week or so - little and often.

I have lilies in the troughs, some in tall black pots and some in the ground. I much prefer them in the little troughs though. I don't do anything too special. I change the compost every year, remove the little bublets that I can to a nursery pot water and feed regularly and check for lily beetles every day. If i find beetles I check 3 times a day. So far this year I've still only found 1 single beetle. I've been very lucky. It's always the troughs that flower first but the tall pots aren't far behind and the tree lilies are about 4 ft so far

The dahlia looks good. I'll try and take a photo of mine tomorrow

Haha I'd check more often if I had time. The troughs usually flower first wherever I put them , they're usually not next to the wall my herbs are but ive had a shuffle this year. Yeah I've got a few flowers and plants yet to make their debut on here haha. Apart from tying in, picking and deadheading ( and the lilies) i give up on the flowers about now and concentrate on the veg again

Come get some of my veg.... I have way too much it's coming out my ears. Today everything I've eaten has come from the garden (apart from eggs) my peas are about the only thing that is a bit rubbish, maybe we should combine gardens haha my courgettes are doing ok and my melon has taken off a bit more. Lost a couple of cucumber plants but have still got 7/8. all I eat is fruit and veg from the garden 3 times a day and fill the freezers with it for winter. I'm mean and don't give it away only to my dad or my niece and nephew. I used to give away gluts but then one or two people started to take the mickey so I stopped.

My melons outdoors fending for itself. It'll be ok if we get sun if not I don't mind too much. I'm not allowed chickens (some council rules I had to sign something at the solicitor to say I knew) but I get my eggs from up the road and oooh they're nice image I've got about 6 big boxes of cut and come agains all done at intervals so I won't be without. The radishes and carrots are a nice size too now and I picked a big box of strawbs this morning before the rain came. I've had all the ripe tomatoes and no sun today so I won't have any for breakfast image

  • So many beautiful flowers... We're still drowning here. We did have some sun this afternoon but it rained again this evening. I'm fed up with this! Plus my FIRST EVER peony flower bud got full of water and rotted away. ??? Come on summer. I'll try to take a picture of something half decent tomorrow if it's dry...

I don't bother planting my salad leaves out, i just let them stay in the big boxes and I have put copper tape all round so the only one eating it will be me. That's why I don't grow "proper" lettuces.

    Hi aym. image

Copper tape: I got a 2.5m one in the pound shop that was ok.

The one I got in home bargains for £1.49 was disappointing, similar quality but labeled as 4m long and turned out to be only 2.5m. image
