    Morning

Today I shall be digging out the stump of a buddleia. I may be some time.....

Dove - do you have a sheltered, shady spot where you can sink the pot into the soil up to it's rim? If you then give pot and soil a thorough soaking it should be ok. The pot can draw moisture from the soil if it needs it but is also somewhat insulated so reduced water loss anyway.

I do this all the time with small pots in the nursery bed where they can be left for 2 - 3 weeks without additional watering unless it's baking hot image

Otherwise, plant it, water it, mulch it....

Hi Topbird - the only sheltered shady spot is the pathway alongside the house so no soil, just path.

Yes, plant tomorrow, water and mulch  ......... thanks folks image

Hosta, who are the VIPs? image   thought you were only expecting us .......... do we have to bring our posh togs image

Steve, those of us who've been with JLP for a while still get "time and a half" on Sunday. There are still some who've been there for donkey's years who get "double time".

New Partners don't get it, hence they want to move those who do qualify out and replace them with new folk.

    Morning allimage

Dove - you could have a look in the GC for a little gizmo/watering spike that attaches to an old lemonade bottle, and releases water gradually over a week or 2 - and you could use that either in the pot or in the ground.  I got some last year as I was worried about leaving my new crabapples for 2 weeks in July. Not expensive.

sitting in bed with the windows open listening to the birds ........blissimage

Great news that you are going back to work Hosta .....well the work bit isn't great news, but as a milestone in recovery it is bl&&dy marvellousimage

Today's task is to weed my sweetpea bed and get the babies planted out, plus tidy up some other bits and pieces.  Feels like we are hurtling headlong into summer now .....although perhaps someone ought to tell that weathermanimage

    Thanks Chicky. Much appreciated.

I'll be spending most of the day in an office " catching up on training" on a rubbish computer. Hey ho, I'll be getting paid ( time and a half ) for it.

    Morning all.

Lovely and sunny here image so when I've got the washing hung up, I'll plant out my runner beans.  A week earlier than usual but I've got fleece at the ready...

Best wishes to your Amelanchier, Dove.  I'm sure it'll be fine in the ground with a good watering and a mulch, and you can enjoy your holiday without worrying about it!

Hosta, hope work isn't too much of a shock...

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
