Love that amelanchier - glad niece provided a suitable anchor ⚓️⚓️⚓️
Beautiful bluebell wood Tbird. Glad you had a good few days away. Totally agree with you on the back-biting front....nasty goings on
Hooray to the departing builders Fairy .....onwards and upwards
My aquilegia gall mite has returned. Think I am going to remove and burn all flower stalks for this year in an attempt to break the cycle. However, our wisteria is out, our ceonothus are looking wonderfully blue, and the peony and poppy buds are fattening nicely ....so lots to smile about too
Evening all, Have three days off now before more Nanna Duty. It's been a bit of a week with Secondborn's eldest. She went back to school yesterday after having her cast changed for a nice purple one. Apparently she has a 6 inch scar down her arm following the surgery, but at least she is OK.
Sorry to hear about your friend Dove as others have said you have had quite a week.
Have to say I'm really disappointed about all the back biting on the other thread. I haven't posted as I don't want to get involved.
Managed to get quite a lot done in the garden yesterday. Bought a new buxus ball, a hebe Tricolour and Spirea Magic Carpet. Planted them and did some weeding.
Watching Marcela as I'm typing and trying to make sense of it all.
Oh Chicky, sorry about your aquilegias. I had a gall midge on one of my pears, it took years to eradicate them. I picked off and burnt all affected pears.
Good luck understanding Marcella, yvie stevie.
Hugs for Dove.
Hostafan, I hope the hypnosis works.
I potted on all of my tomatoes today, planted up a couple of tubs, and potted on some Ricinus. I may have too many plants, we need a get together so I can pass on a few.
The aquilegias from last year... are anybodies flowering yet?

Yes Fidget, I've got one open and so has Wonky - we'll do some photos when we get a moment
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Evening all. Had a good few hours of sun today so got into the garden
Lovely pic of bluebell wood Topbird. One of the joys of nature
Liri take care with the calf strain. No heavy digging. Same for you Lesley, take care.
Dove, that's a lovely sturdy Amalanchier which will give you pleasure this autumn.
Sorry to hear your sad news.
Enjoy your weekend of clearing Fairy It's great to have an area to start from scratch
obelixx, enjoy your trip, would love to see Beth Chatto's garden.
Oh Dove - that's really sad.
I'd ditto the staking. I think that will be gorgeous once it's in the ground.
Lovely pic T'bird. A real vision of spring
Shame about the aquilegias chicky. I always think they're such trouble free plants....
The whole garden was a started from scratch, Joyce. There's just more of it that's been scratched now!
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
