That sounds yummy RB. Would rather have it at tea time than breakfast time.

Hosta, it is big ........... image

Do you think we should stake it, or will it be ok as it's multi-stemmed?  The garden does have high fences all around but the wind can be a bit blustery sometimes ...

Just had a phone call - the young person I knew through my work and continued to visit even now because she considered me a friend, passed away last night.  She had severe epilepsy and cerebral palsy with learning difficulties ....... oh how I'll miss her smile  image

It sounds as if your builders got a move on, Fairy.  Glad it's all done & dusted (well, perhaps not dusted yet... sounds as if that might be your weekend job image)

We are putting off having something done about our damp floor.  The thought of the upheaval is not encouraging - but we'll have to bite the bullet some time because we have woodworm beginning to take up residence.  image

RB, hard luck with the wait for the doc.  At least you got to see one eventually!

The rain has stopped so I must go out and talk to my runner beans, in the little growhouse.  I think they might need re-potting before it's warm enough for them to go out;  first week in June is the usual time for me here.

So sorry to hear about the loss of your friend, Dove.  xx

Re staking:  could you stake the rootball, not the amelanchier?  2 stakes one either side, tops at soil level, batten across the top (though you might have to thread the batten through the stems).  Or 3 short stakes equally spaced round the rootball, maybe 12" above ground, fastened to 3 of the stems.

    Hello All

Have been away again for a couple of days. Seem to have been some unnecessarily personal comments on the Forum over the last few days. Politics and social chit chat / banter rarely make good bedfellows IMO image So much I could say on 'that' thread but my opinions would be lambasted and I don't need the hassle....

So sorry to hear about your friend Dove - but pleased to hear you & WW gave Ma a rousing send off on Wednesday. Love amelanchiers - have 3 in my garden - 1 tree and 2 multi-stemmed shrubs. Tree is staked - shrubs aren't.

Fairy - good news you're feeling better and that your building work is finished (they were quite quick weren't they) Hate having people working on the house even though I only employ really nice, honest guys. Just feel like the place is not mine while they're there. Planting sounds good.

Panda - hope the arm gets better soon. Mid to light ash blonde with soft pink & lilac highlights IMO image

Runny - doctors appt - image

Joyce - hope OH is home soon.

Forgotten everything else so hope everyone else is well and Hosta is managing to keep warm.

We had a couple of days in Norfolk. One day we went for a bike ride and Eye-spied this wood (Wolterton Hall) - it was huge and a carpet of blue. Starting to go over but still very beautiful image

    Hostafan1 says:

    Thanks folks.

Next Thursday morning. Bring it on.

Sleeping tablets: prescribed and herbal have been of no help I have to say.

    See original post

And if that fails you could always try the Nightol, knock a horse out they would.??

well, they knock my OH out for the night.

Glad to hear it Dove. You had me worried. My H was dreadful for that. He always saw things from his own peculiar angle. He wouldn't let me have brush screening while the hedge was growing in because the place would look like Tenko! Trouble is he was usually right. image

I'm very sorry for the loss of your friend. You're having a bit of a week of it. I'm not a hugger but if I was you could have one.

Dove, so sorry about your friend.

Extra hugs from me when you come down. LESS THAN 2 WEEKS TO GO!!!!!

Soooooooooooooo much to do in the garden before you come and I'm aiming to be back at work by then too.
