Oh yes it's going at the far end of the new Sunny Bed we're working on - it's an island bed projecting into the lawn (well, more of a peninsula than an island if you get me) . It will screen the re-vamped utility area and compost bins and also our neighbour's house to the rear, and provide the birds with a somewhat smaller replacement for the big ash tree we felled last autumn. We'll underplant it with Cyclamen coum and the bed will be a mix of grasses, low growing shrubs and tall wavy perennials.
Well, that's the plan so far ...........
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I love Amelanchier Dove, and would get one for this garden if I could find a spot for it. I planted one at my house round the corner. A beautiful shape with a single trunk, just right for near the front gate beside the hornbeam hedge. The new owners have hacked it to the same height as the hedge....
So many ill and injured folk here just now. Hope everyone gets better soon.
Extension is finished, apart from a couple of minor things to sort. I just have to sort all the ground all round it....

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Having a peaceful (well mostly) few minutes inbetween finishing scrubbing the museum and the scouts arriving. The coffee shop smells of pie and mushy peas which is at least a good sign that supper is cooking!
What are you planning for around the extension Fairy?
I wasn't going to say it because it's Dove's decision what she does in her garden but now you've made me!
My friend spent days cutting and planting an island/peninsula bed and we all had to troop up to her bedroom window to admire it from above. My H took one look and said "it looks like a d**k"!
Feeling a lot better thanks. Not walking this weekend. Forecast is pants for the hills, and I feel it makes sense to start the clear up inside and out....
Sunday is to be ok here so I'll hopefully get outside and start levelling the area round the building. The builder has put new planks in on the fence they had to take down, and finished it all off for me, which was good of them. The back of the 'stension is south facing Clari, so I've always intended having some hot stuff. Plants that is...
A bit of orange, red and hot pink all nicely clashing
Pleased to see you have some good news in the offing re job situation. You deserve that - you're far too good for those unappreciative bandits.

Gorgeous trees. Flowers, berries, and lovely autumn colour.

Agreed, PD. Have you got a place in mind for it, Dove?
