Morning all. Tsk, how awful about the fire, what is wrong with people? Humans can be such idiots. I hope not too much is lost, although that is probably a faint hope.
Not much to report here, going to be a rainy, rainy day by the looks of it. I'm in my office for much of it anyway (although I do work from home so that's a benefit). My new roses will be arriving today and I won't be able to plant them due to the weather
Morning all/afties Pat - glad you're getting the hand of it all
Clari - why do we continue to be surprised at the stupidity of the morons in the human race.....they don't like to let anything like common sense get in the way of their fun do they?
chicky - perhaps if they leave now, they'll get the display there in time.....
glad to be of service to Liri re the weather - I arranged it fro my building work too - seems to be working quite well so far
Mining for me shortly too, so I'll bid you all 'ae fond farewell'
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Grey and drizzly here but still very mild. Forecast to be like this all day which is just perfect for all the planting I did last week. I was a bit concerned that the extreme weather of the last few days meant I'd have to get the hosepipe out.
Might have a trip out today but don't know where yet
Have a good one!
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Pdoc its to be a bit cooler at the weekend but the trip should be worth it
Fairy hope building work goes well, great spell of weather for such tasks
have worked hard in the garden the last few days, look better, filthy hands which give the show away!
Off to sit with a pal who is really not good. Her poor OH needing a break so mine taking him to golf. I never realised what a terrible thing depression is. hope I can help. We have known each other since we were 6
stay safe everyone

I'm sure you will be a comfort to your friend Lily P.
Thanks Joyce, best night's sleep for a week.
I had a quiet day yesterday, weather wasn't very good anyway, sorting out the slides and notes for the talk I'm giving on Thursday about creating an English garden in France. I probably won't sleep well tomorrow!
Veg garden needs attention. Don't think the perpetual spinach has germinated, and bean poles and tomato posts need putting up.
I hope you find the cable Dove.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Have read back but no time to comment on everything so apologies for not mentioning all but it does all go in.
Lovely poem Dove, we had a Christina Rossetti one at Father in Laws, nice tone in C.R. I always think.
Bad news about the fire Clari, what a shame.
Lily P, just being there can mean a lot, no one expects or sometimes even want people to 'fix' things, thoughtful companionship is enough.
Safe travels to those off on jaunts.
Lizzie, I really don't think you know how knowledgeable you are about plants and gardening, what you have done in your garden and your ability to just share the names of all the (thousands) of plants is incredible, you will be fine on Thursday and the gardening club will love it.
Right, must dash, catch up later hopefully.

G'day all.
No sun today, but some rain is needed here. Seems strange to be saying that, after the winter we have had.
Lots to do, as visiting OH's family in Scotland this w/e.
I walk on the hills around Ladybower a lot, or perhaps more honestly I used to, so that fire is very sad.
Have a good day.

Tough gig Lily Pilly. You're a good friend.

Lily P, I am sure you will be of some help, even if you don't feel like you have.
