Oh Dove you made me cry. I'd no idea you'd lost you mum. I'm so sorry. What a beautiful poem. My mum has decided she wants a Jenny Joseph poem called Warning. It might be more fitting for your wedding Panda. Might scare your OH away mind!

    A very meaningful poem Dove.

Lovely pic of snow imagebunting Fairy. The rock colouring is complementary to the bunting's.

You didn't have a wee paintbox in your rucksack did you?

What a nice place this forum is - beautiful picture Fairy, lovely poem Dove, reminder of what I would like my border to look like from Doc and a reminder of what I shall be like before too long from PP.  image

    Have a good evening Panda.

No Joyce - the colours happened courtesy of Mother Nature. Ain't she grand sometimes? image

I love the scoured rock on hills Lesley-  again Ma Nature and her snow, rain and ice. Couldn't quite pick out the confused toad though. Are you having some kind of breakdown?....image image

Lovely pic doc. I think Mr B nicked it from DD's garden though image

Any pictures of him by any chance.....image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Hey everyone - found you again! Popped in to say hi! What a difference to the forum, ongoing update I understand - hardly recognised you!

Went to local plant fair (in a village called Wortley for those folk near me). It was earlier this year and had transformed into a plant and craft fair. Beautiful crafts but only 3 plant stalls! Still I managed to sneak away with a lovely Scabiosa Misty Blue, a few plant supports and a little stone rabbit. Took son who just about remained intact after scuttling around on his scooter.

Dove, so sorry to hear about ma. Hope your sadness is wrapped tight in a blanket of happy memories. Love and best wishes.

Got some nice tulips but not much else yet in the garden. Shouldn't. the rhododendrons be doing their thing by now? I'm sure the 'late' one has flowered early but still waiting for the Easter two.

Lilac still looking pathetic after a mad prune two years ago.

Bowles mauve won't stop flowering - every day since I got it last ?june/July, including xmas! it needs a good prune to bush up but far too lovely!

OH cycling at weekend in Peak district, so just might pop over to Chatsworth.

Oh! - that reminds me -newsflash - got tickets for Tatton Flower show! so excited- my first ever!

Hope you are all are well.

Lovely photo, Fairygirl, I love the way the rock and his colours match, I know Joyce has said and I agree.

    Beautiful moving poem, Dove.

DD, your garden will be fine, it's always been lovely when I've seen it.

Lovely poem Dove.   Very fitting.   And yes Panda, good for a wedding too.  It's all about love isn't it?

We had a Laïque (humanist) naming ceremony for Possum at the Hôtel de ville with the then bourgmestre presiding.   They were very good at having some bits read in English for the non French speaking rellies and friends and the texts were all very meaningful and dealt with bringing her up to be a responsible citizen who contributes to her society and family.   All went swimmingly until it dawned on me that the last and most important was the poem IF being read in French in all seriousness. I had a quiet fit of giggles and OH had tears running down his cheeks - but then he can be a soppy chappy.

PP - I have been wearing purple literally and figuratively for years on the grounds that sometimes, and whilst keeping in mind the rules of basic politeness, you just have to be allowed to be yourself and not worry about what other people think about your foibles.
