BL such dreadful news for you I am so sorry. How yiu managed to find tinue with your open day and smile shows what a strong person you are.  naurually I am not surprised your beautiful garden was admired.  It is stunning

we had such a warm day yesterday we had an impromptu doggie play date with my sister and her dig and BarBQ d   Today is just as nice but I am planting and weeding ( again) Mr Woody is hammering away and everything else with feathers is serenading me while I work

nice to see familiar faces on again today  I am getting more used to it but still find much tedious

Thank you Lily P and the others on the page before. I wanted to refer to some of them but my fuzzy brain has dropped them. Bother!

One thing, obelixx said it was Mother's Day yesterday, but here in France it's on the 29th May.

Gloomy cool day here. I'm working on my garden talk for Thursday.

How very odd BL.  I knew that UK and Belgian dates were different but assumed it was a continent wide thing.

Maybe they were all at church doing their Ascension thing.    They do have Open Gardens in France don't they?    They  understand the basic principle?

I am still feeling very weary after this weekend's show.  Been messing with post show thank yous and admin this morning then took drama queen Rasta to the vet to have her stitches out.   Running round the garden with no bother this morning.  Limping heavily for the vet who was very sceptical of my explanation till Rasta, after it was all over, tried to leap off the examination bench from a great height and then ran away down the corridor - no limp in sight!   Gotcha!

Clouding over a bit now and cooling down so I'm off to commune with the baby veg and salads.

    Hello all,

Quick peep in again, busy day today, hip-hop and choir tonight, back to back (I don't actually do the hip-hop, just the taxi service for Charlie & his friend) I am planning on reading more of my book tonight though whilst waiting. Book Club on Friday and so far I am only 18% through it and is a rather large one. Easy read but still takes time. image I have managed to clean the house right through so far and get the shopping done, worst jobs out the way first, always a good plan. Bit cold and windy to do gardening but really will have to get cracking out there soon whatever the weather, the weeds are creeping up on me. image

Lizzie, awful news about your friends, you were very brave to get though yesterday smiling. Such a shock for all their friends and family and what a horrible end. image

Might go out now and crush a few Lily Beetles before I get Charlie from school, got 5 of the little blighters yesterday. I need my lilies on top form for Open Day, distraction form the weeds. image

I had an idea yesterday when walking around the garden thinking about Open Day (after seeing how perfect BL's was), if I blinkered people at the entrance and only allowed them to look at the good bits how much less pressure that would be - what do you think? image

Tried to upload this pic from phone yesterday but it wouldn't work unfortunately.

This is one of my good bits and as long as no-one looks left or right it's fine.

I read somewhere recently about a dog who faked a limp to get out of going for walks. Cost a fortune in vet bills for tests and exams and things!!!!

    Hello all!

I like the photo of "one of your good bits", DD.  It looks beautiful - and with as much interest as that, I'm sure the visitors won't need blinkers...

Lizzie, so sorry to hear your shocking news.  But so glad the open day went well - hopefully it was worth the effort.

I've been away for the weekend, singing in York.  It takes ages to catch up on here!  But it's good to see so many friends are sticking with the Forum and waiting for the promised improvements.

Tomorrow I shall be away by 6am, travelling by train and ferry to the holiday cottage, to see if I can make any sense of the water problem.  Others have tried and failed... it looks as if we might have to resort to a plumber, which is an expensive business on an island.  Anyway, on the plus side, the forecast looks terrific!  image

Is there a plumber in Appin Lirio or do you get one from Oban?  Is there one on Lismore (doubts)?

    Hi everyone,

Well it did get lovely and sunny today. It was glorious till around 4ish. It then started hissing down and it hasn't stopped image

Went into town today for a haircut. Looks much better now and at least this time she hadn't turned into Edward Scissorhands sister! imageimage

Good to see you Pdoc and Hosts image

Fell asleep in the garden BUT managed to roll into the shade so didn't get burnt. Yay!

I think yesterday's 16hours working / driving / trying to repair the car on the side of the road has caught up with me.

Wonky; my bamboo type thing is really tiny. I can't remember it's name (a sin bin special I hadn't planned on buying it I just wanted pollen free plants near the bbq to keep his lordship happy). It sits in a pot happily and only gets around 2 foot high.

Hope it goes ok Liri - the forecast is set fair for the next few days so that's always a plus! image

Beautiful pic DD. I'm about to try Nora's suggestions to see if I can post a few before organising the dinner image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
