Food included: Turbot with Mussels, Sweetbreads, Bone Marrow, Lovage soup, Onions 4 ways !, 120 day aged Galloway beef, plus somuch more.

The restaurant has its own farm, grows all its own vegetables, and does a lot of foraged food as well.

Bought a Horned Poppy, which I have wanted for some time, a new Meconopsis, a bit like Hensol Violet, and Rheum Ace of Hearts, which I mentioned on here last week, so it was great to find it.

Fairy may be enjoying a BH weekend in the hills or relaxing away from the ongoing extension, which would be a good ideaimage

That sounds like my sort of menu. I love sweetbreads, fortunately I can get them from my butcher. The beef sounds blissful.

    Yet another mecanposis!? image

Glad you enjoyed yourselves Pdoc.  The food sounds amazingimage

Dove have fun at the zooimage.  OH took me to the zoo for my birthday a few years ago and booked to see the pandas.  It was great (big kid that I am)image.

Hope the painkillers kick in soon Beaus.  Your hands have to be able to hold the camera steady when you take a pic of the new bedimage

Raining here so I'll have to think what I can do.  H/w? image.

No rain here yet - forecast for later this afternoon.  Need to get out there sharpish to tidy up my penstemmon and plant some new hydrangeas before the drizzle arrives.  But need a bacon sarnie first - and another cuppaimage.

Glad you had a good trip Pdoc ....my birthday and 22nd wedding anniversary will coincide too...but not til Octimage.  Have "mentioned" that Harlow Carr is the best way to mark such occasionsimage

It's bright and sunny and warmish.  OH is home from his Stay and Play golf weekend in France (so much cheaper than UK) and clearing weeds from the bed under the damson tree.

Rasta is doing well and milking the sympathy and cuddles.  Boudin noir still doing the trick for hiding her meds.   Little walkies yesterday went well.

Police have just been to interview Possum who needs a "certificat de bonne vie, bon moeurs" but she's at college.   Doh!

I am stuck indoors doing some urgent admin for the dance club but I will get out and plant a few bits this pm as there are no frosts forecast for the mo.  New thumb skin is very tender so not sure I can drive secateurs yet and there's pruning to do ....

Possum wants to know what I'd like for Belgian Mothers' Day on Sunday.  Doesn't approve of my always going for garden stuff.   Tough.

Don't fancy sweetbreads or bone marrow - doggy treats - but love a good restaurant that grows its own veg and sources other stuff locally.

    Have a great BH everyone.

    Morning all.

Wide awake until gone 2am this morning . ggrrrr

Rain has just started but should move on later so , as a special treat,OH is taking me to Lidl and Morrisons in Bude. I've never been to either before , but you guys say they do cheap plant. image

Our farmer's wife neighbour has just delivered the parish newsletter, so , after bribing her with a Miscanthus from the tunnel, I broached the subject of stone moving and massive tonka trucks. image

    Hi all image

Well done Hosta!  Hope "the boys" come up trumps.

Isn't Harlow Carr a bit far for you, Chicky?  Lovely place though.  We often go for our wedding anniversary, and there's always something to see.  Punkdoc - violet mecanopsis sounds fab...

Drizzle again today, but at least it's warming up.  The forecast suggests I might actually be able to do some gardening again soon image

Got to pay a flying visit to our Scottish cottage next week, because there's something wrong with the water supply.  It'll be cheaper than getting a plumber across from the mainland (assuming I can identify and repair the fault, that is image)

Drat.  Got to go out in the rain to do shopping...
